We just moved to Yakima and have been looking for a comfortable place to have a nice breakfast in an inviting atmosphere. For us, we found it at Mel's Diner! Friendly, smiling staff. Nostalgic 60s atmosphere. Breakfast was delightful. We can't wait to go back and try their lunch. Give Mel's a try. We don't think you'll be disappointed.

We stayed in Yakima overnight passing through and the hotel clerk recommended this diner for a meal. It did not disappoint! The decor is awesome and the staff were so friendly and made our whole morning! The food was delicious. The best steak sandwich I have ever had!
Doing a grand tour from Tuscaloosa to Whidbey Is. WA to the Grand Canyon with wife and grandson. Stopped for lunch. FANTASTIC experience. Do yourself a favor--if you're in Yakima, stop at Mel's.

The food was excellent! A tad on the noisy side... mostly from people seated at other tables. The waitress was outstanding in every way the first day, but a different waitress was only adequate on a return visit.
