Before COVID-19, when you went in the store, you would always be greeted by owners Dawn and/or Grace, two of the loveliest people you will meet in Yakima, who are experts of Japanese cuisine. The food is the best part, their original gyoza being my second favorite food of all time, and no order is complete without a side of their amazingly moist fried rice and a dessert of house-made Doriyaki. These two ladies are the queens of takeout, serving only that since the restaurant's opening, perfect for the age of COVID-19.

It is true that it is hard to get fresh Yellowtail, Salmon, Tuna delivered to this area, but what Obento has somehow is always fresher then the other locations.If you try any of the maki or small rolls, you'll notice an attention to the flavor of the vinegar rice along with the subtle hint of wasabi with fresh fish. If you try any of the udon/noodle dishes, the flavor of the home made broth paired with the chewy noodles hits home.The service can be slow so it is recommended to dial in, in advance, especially during the Covid Pandemic time. The owner is an amazing older lady that makees all the dishes herself.Support your local small business, the price is well worth the quality of food you'll receive.

I drove about an hour extra out of my way to Obento House because the reviews made it seem promising. I ordered a beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, and a rainbow roll, totaling $32. The rainbow roll was decent, but the teriyaki portions were TINY, the beef teriyaki was subpar at best, & smaller than a 8oz steak! The chicken teriyaki was rubbery and tasteless. The overall presentation of the food was okay but I definitely felt like I got robbed by ordering food here. SMALL PORTIONS Expensive for portion size.

Found this place randomly and it was yummy! Tried the tofu yakisoba, curry vegetable boa buns and two sushi rolls. Everything was perfect. It's take out only but don't let that stop you.

I love coming here for lunch. Although it's takeout only, I really enjoy all their dishes, and the weekly specials ( you write your email on a piece of paper by the cashier) are always really good. For a little sushi place it's great food and the staff are super friendly too.
