My understanding is that they have new owners. I never tried the restaurant until last night so I can't say how the food used to be. But I had heard rave reviews from friends and acquaintances. Sadly, I found the place to have terrible food. I ordered some crab and shrimp thing which I didn't care for as the crab didn't taste like crab to me and the shrimp were pretty small, and my wife ordered a large prime rib. They put GRAVY on the prime rib! It was not good at all. The waitress was very nice, though.

Been coming here for years, came to check out new owners. Bartender was great very smiley and knows why she is doing. Service was excellent, food was awesome and a bit cheaper then before. It’s a little small but if you ever been here you know that. We will be back to support a small business with great food and service.Parking: Plenty of room to parkWheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible. It’s just that it is a rather small place and it might be a little hard to get around.

The Nutshell is back. And the food is delicious. I ordered the king cut Prime Rib with a twice baked potato. We also ordered the Bread Bites, Cordon Blue Bites, Onion Rings, Fillet Mignon, Ribeye, and of course the soup and salad. The steaks made us all happy. The sides and appetizers were on point. But the biggest surprise for me, was the salad bar. It was well stocked and had the options that I never find. We ordered more than our share of cocktails as well as a few Grasshoppers for desert and all I can say is I'll be back. Its close to the same layout as before, with some small changes but it's clean and inviting. It's great to see new owners that want to do great things. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a great place for casual or date night. They have a smooth system for seating, arrive at the bar, when ready waitress takes your order, seat you when order is ready. Great history, food (phlox tenderloin, twiced baked and potato soup, loved their homemade bisquits.

We have not been here for a while. Not impressed with the service or the food. Made a reservation and still had to wait. They will not seat you. You have to sit at the bar and place your order there. The salad was ordinary, and the soup lukewarm. The prime rib was okay. The lobster was generous but not hot nor was the butter to dip it in. We won’t be going back any time soon.

What great food! We wanted a place to meet a friend who lives in Wausau - we live North of Antigo, so I went online and looked up restaurants in the Antigo area. I looked at the reviews and we decided to try it. It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere but what a nice place. My friend had the ribeye, I had the new york strip and my wife had the baked cod with mozzarella cheese on it. It was really good! You not only get the main meal but you also get two sides and all of it was delicious. Well worth the drive. They get quite busy and there is limited space so call for a reservation. Prices are up there but the meals are worth it.
