Really amazing the first time I went (last season) when I got pad thai and curry. Sad the pork buns and nutella dessert aren't around anymore. Service was phenomenal, food was meh besides the bang bang broccoli (crispy, tasty, not super saucy). Laad Na (beef) and Mee Krob (shrimp) were ok but bland. The food came super fast but SO HOT (temperature, def not spice) I burned my tongue and it hurts a couple hours later. Willing to go back to get the staples again that are always good but a little hesitant after this last time.

The Basil Cafe is about an hour from where we live, so we only get there about once a month. But it is always well worth it. You can order pretty much anything on the menu as a vegan dish, but I've found that the most flavorful dishes are the ones that don't have to be adapted. Things like their homemade wide rice noodles are delish, as are their curries. We also love a number of the appetizers, especially the Bang Bang Broccoli.
I should also let you know that the staff here is terrific. They are always attentive and with smiles on their faces. We miss the restaurant when they close for a long stretch during the summer, but it is always a joy to go back when they are open again!

Food - some of the best I've had in many many years. Service - order taken quickly, glass always full, boxed up my leftovers for me. Atmosphere - lovely music playing, well decorated. Greeted with smiles and felt very welcomed

Unassuming little restaurant from the exterior but wow!!!! This place was hopping and I see why. Talk about a trip to flavortown!!! I was truly impressed. We waited about 30 minutes for a table early in the evening. They had a little lounge section which made it easy to wait away from the crowd. Wish this place were closer to us. We’d be there weekly.

All the main dishes are around $20. I got the spicy basil house special- wasn’t really that spicy, but it was flavorful. I probably wouldn’t get it again though. I also got to try durian!! The durian rice dessert was very interesting haha. So I’m glad for this restaurant! Will be back to try other things.
