Beautiful venue, outstanding selection of tequilas! Amazing appetizers, fabulous staff! Don’t come here for the cheap tequilas, they don’t carry them, come here for the good stuff!

Every time I go to the I stopped there.. excellent drinks excellent bartenders… I will always stop there.. last time I was around the place they had salsa dancing lessons.. I should’ve tried, but I’m afraid.. definitely would recommend this place to anybody that loves margaritas or handcrafted cocktails!! Five stars!!

My spouse and I attempted to get drinks here on the Friday of Mile of Music. Not many people were inside (less than 10 customers including ourselves) and there were two bartenders so we thought now would be a good time to try this place out. Unfortunately we sat there for 15 minutes and no one came over to take our order. The couple next to us were growing impatient as well for their next drinks. We ended up leaving. Maybe it was just an off night, not sure. We'll try again another time maybe.

Great music and great atmosphere. However I have never paid $14 for 2 juices before this Friday. Granted it was mixed juice with soda and grenadine. No Alcohol… However, That was definitely too high.

We went at 7pm on a Friday, it wasn't busy at all. We sat Down right away. A couple of people were by the bar talking about CCAPing people for about 5 mins then a lady left the group and came over to our table. Here it was our server... we ordered then she came back 2x to let us know what we ordered wasn't available. Then she asked for our card for the tab but brought it back right away and said she pre authorized our meal even tho we had planned on getting more drinks. She brought us our food and we never seen her again. We went to the bar to make sure we paid for our meal. The bartender said it was super weird she gave us our card back for the tab & was very confused on why she pre authorized it. Overall the was okay but not great & service was bad.

Alright people, I am going to admit I had not intended to stumble upon this amazing gem, however, last week we found ourselves here eating an amazing, and I mean amazing supper here before seeing a performance at the PAC. Our group didn't decide before going that evening where we wanted to eat. After waiting for over an hour at a restaurant near by for our '20 min wait' while they 'cleared the table' when we arrived about 5:15 for the 7:30pm show and we still were not seated, we handed in our buzzer and walked away in search of sustenance.
While we found that and so much more wandering into Calavera's! Walking in I was a bit nervous as there was one table filled and the rest of the place was empty. No humans at the bar or other tables. Boy, was that misleading, this restaurant bar was awesome! Each of us ordered different steak dishes and the asada was tender and perfectly seasoned.
So I ordered the Asada Tacos. Normally you get two, however I was super hungry so I ordered an extra one. This comes with tortilla chips and salsa as well. I ordered a Mexican Lollipop to drink. The Asada Street Tacos were perfect, not to greasy at all. They were light, flavorful and I can say that they didn't last long at all.
The chips, people the chips, I don't know exactly what was on those chips! Never have I ever had tortilla chips that were perfectly salted (I am not an overly salty person), and bursting with flavor! I could for sure taste the usual lime but I almost think that they have some secret ingredient as well that just makes that flavor pop! The amazing salsa was there, however I used it more for the street tacos than the chips as the chips were so tasty on their own.
Then there was the Mexican Lollipop drink. It was sweet, not overly so that you would only be able to have one or two before you would sour your stomach from the sugar, but just the right amount. Then it came with the lollipop and the seasoning on the rim of the glass and that just sealed the deal.
My spouse decided that he was going to order the Loaded Philly Fries. This was a large serving and he was sure full when done. It was so good he didn't even let me have one bite to taste, which my dear reader is not normal for him ever! That means it must have been as delicious if not more so than my tacos. He did make comment about the cheese sauce being the best he has had in a long time.
My brother got the steak melt sliders. They were so good and he enjoyed them as well. He mentioned that they also had the scrumptious cheese sauce on it. His only wish after tasting one of my chips was that the chips would have come with his sliders as well or he could have ordered them on the side as he was left still hungry after the sliders and beverages he ordered as we walked to the PAC.
While talking to the young man tending the bar we were able to learn quite a bit about Mexican Tequilas and Mexican Wines in their case. It was rather enlightening to learn so much from someone so young.
I know this is now on the list of places I will be returning back to not only to eat again but to try out their dance floor, dance lessons and more. The humorous decor, lovely atmosphere and intelligent and friendly service have added to the delicious food options to make this place a hidden gem so close to the PAC.

This place has one of the most extensive tequila menus I have ever seen. The live music was incredible this night and the atmosphere was so inviting. For as crowded as it was, there was still an air of intimacy and engagement with the music. The artists weren’t drowned out by the noise of the conversations throughout the bar and the bar service was on point.
