El Agave Mexican Grill & Cantina

My husband and I tried Agave for the first time this past friday while doing some Christmas shopping. We were excited with all the good reviews however the service and food fell short. We were maybe 1 table of 6 with 3 servers on. Our food came out before our appetizer. My food was warm at best. My husband's looked like it had sat under a warming lamp. Our waiter never came to see how things were or ask about drinks. We then had to flag another waiter for our bill to find out we were charged dinner prices for lunch items. We just paid and left it was not worth the time. Also why is your restroom like a freezer? I could see my breath when I went in to use it!

Ate here in September 2025 for quick bite. Service was great in the beginning, with chips and salsa served promptly, as well as drink orders. The salsa was "Americanized" and we were disappointed we didn't have the heat we were seeking in a homemade salsa. We ordered a few drinks and ordered an echilada dinner & chicken tacos. Plenty of food on the plate, but it was average for a Mexican restaurant.

Our server was bad. Didnt check on us I had to find him to get more chips. it was not busy. After we got our food he didn't check on us.

We stopped in for lunch. Food was delicious and very large portions. Laura gave us excellent service. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. She also made a great margarita. We will definitely be back again.

Probably my least favorite mexican restaurant I’ve been to in the area. The chips tasted like they were made with old oil since they had a burnt taste and odd smell. Ordered flour steak tacos and they barely had enough steak for only half the taco, very little portion. I wish I could give this a better review due to the good reviews it looks like this place has, but yesterday the food was terrible.

I just ordered the Corn and this IS NASTY I NEVER HAD A Mexican corn I didn't like until today! All u can taste is sugar and lime where is the Tajin n all the other good stuff mayo? I dnt get it not worth 8$ for sure! Lil Taco has the best corn!

The taste and freshness of the chips was not what I remember from a few years ago. The server was friendly but failed to bring items that were ordered. I will make another choice when deciding which Mexican restaurant to visit for a meal.

Interesting food on the menu. The octopus tacos and the cherry pork tacos were just ok. They needed a little more flavor/sauce. Cactus salad side was very good. $20 for three tacos and two sides. Plenty of food but still a little pricey. Service was very good.

Poor service and communication, we had employees waiting for lunch and they never communicated that they will not come, reservation was made with 2 weeks in advance. Never ordering again for this place.
