Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que

The food is still delicious; however we ordered takeout online two days before Mother's Day to be picked up on Mother's Day at 2:30 p.m., but the food wasn't ready till after 3 because our dozen "muffins weren't ready." Then our gallon of lemonade wasn't with the "filled" order. Another 10 min wait with the meat getting cold and the rest of our party waiting at home. I realize staffing is tight and customer demand is high on Mother's Day, but with two days of lead time, I do at least expect to not need to remind staff of our beverage at Famous Dave's prices.

My Mom & I stopped by Famous Dave's for lunch on a weekday. The front of the restaurant was dark & void of people, so we walked into the dining room to request a table.Our server was friendly and brought our drinks and food promptly, but despite being the only server, would be absent from the dining room for extended periods.Two of the side dishes we wanted were not available. The French fries I ordered were forgotten by the kitchen, and brought late. I requested sour cream, but they had run out the day prior (despite being located across the street from the largest area grocery store).As a replacement, the server suggested ranch dressing, but brought a side of dill dip instead (not great with French fries). By the time I realized it was a dill dip, he had left the dining room again. We also needed drink refills. He was not there.I had to go find our server to get our check. I handed him his tip directly when he finally brought the bill. Which was a mistake, because then there was no one around to actually pay. We waited by the cash registers for more than 5 minutes. Our server walked past a few times, but ignored us. Finally, I saw a cook in the back and asked him to call someone to help us.Someone came to collect our money. We needed exactly $5 change, since we had already tipped our server. We paid with exact change, but the person we gave the money to said he wasn't able to get our change from the cash register he was standing directly in front of! He went into the back of the restaurant to ask someone else for change. Returning with the wrong change amount, and had to go into the back again.A very strange visit all around. Nothing like the pleasant visit I had last summer. I doubt we will be returning.

First time here for lunch last Friday and will definitely be back! The food was great, we had chicken and chopped pork sandwiches, it was above our expections. The waitress was nice and looked like she pretty busy as they seemed to be short staffed. All in all it was a great experience, highly recommend

Visited here twice in the past year or so. From last time to tonight I had the best bbq you can have. Very delicious introduced boyfriend to the food we both loved it. Split the pick 3 combo very worth the money. So yummy will always come back. Great customer service upon pick up order. Yummy!!

This place has excellent food. The servings are huge! The chicken strips on the kids menu could feed an adult no problem. We ate until we were stuffed and had plenty for the next days lunch.

Great food! I recommend the sweet tea and pick three combo.You can pick two sides with this these picks. Staff was very friendly and responsive to requests. They helped eachother when needed and were on spot with taking care of their customers the minute they walked in the door. It was nice to see the display of teamwork. We had a great experience and will be back.

Didn't have brisket or burnt ends! I ordered online. Drove there and THEN found this out. Had to change my order when I arrived and didn't receive a discount. I should have got paid to eat this food. Not good at all. Do Appleton a favor and close this location so people can stop getting robbed!! 90.00 will get you an opposite order and cold food. They also forgot a whole meal. I never leave reviews so nice work "famous" Dave's.

Husband got us take out tonight. Not only did they forget part of our meal (unsure how because we were the only ones getting food at the time) the food portions are so small, chicken wings are literally burn- totally inedible. The food was way way over priced. 90$ for food that we could hardly eat. I tried to choke most of mine down because I don’t want to waste money. But honestly, I wouldn’t feed my dog this food.This is why my husband and I started going to Parker Johns.Tried to give Famous Dave’s the Benefit of the doubt. But we are beyond words disappointed.Honestly, they should just close rather than waste time and money on this literal trash.Will not be back

This is not the Famous Dave's I know. We had to stand at the front counter....and wait until somebody actually decided to come out from the back to actually help us. Then, after we ordered.....we had to pay right away. They actually asked us to "tip" right away.....BEFORE we even sat down to eat. It took them forever to bring out our food.....even though we were the only ones there. The ribs were awful. The corn on the cob was cold and soggy. Not once did they come out to our table to check on us. You should hire people that are willing to help you.....check to see if everything is ok....and offer any type of assistance in any way. You should hire people that don't hide in the back and avoid assisting the guests. The food should go back to the way it was........Delicious. Dave should stop in an surprise these employees.....and see how horrible this place has become. It was a terrible place to eat. Will only eat here again.....if Famous Dave corrects all of these wrongs. Dave should shut this place down because of the poor service and poor quality of the food and the lack of enthusiasm. Will never eat in this dump ever again.

Dave's has been our go-to place for ribs for years. We went the last Friday and were very disappointed. The small staff was friendly but there was no wait staff. Ordered and payed at the same time at the counter, including the tip. Food was brought by the reception guy. Everything else we needed we had to go up front and ask for. Had I known that the service was so limited I'd have not left the same tip. Ribs were very good. So we had a $60+ lunch bill with little service. Very disappointed.

They changed things up since we were last there. Order and pay at the register first, find a seat, serve yourself soda...they bring the food to you..We had a very nice young man help us out at the register! Food was great! Sorry! Kids dug in before I got a picture of all of the food

Very disappointing. I suspect Covid has an affect on staffing here. We were at the restaurant about 3. We're told to take a menu, and order at the front and then find a table. We were with another couple who ordered after us. They got their meal and were half finished eating before I ever got my salad or our meal. Food was OK but not warm enough. My husband ordered bread pudding to go. When he got it, it looked like they had dropped it as it was in several pieces and was sort of smashed. We recommended this place as our friends had never been to a Famous Dave's. Doubt they will return. Not sure we will either for a long time.

Wonderful experience went in pretty early I was the first to be seated great service great food great building just great!

We were so disappointed is to say the least... More dirty tables than there were customers... Had to seat ourselves, go back up and order... Had to get own drinks, when our food finally got to the right table, mind you it was us and one other table... Asked for butter and salt... Nope had to go chase someone down... Food was hard, cold, & tasteless!!! Bathroom was NOT clean and if you maybe if you use hot water and some elbow grease when moping the seating area floor... Your shoes won't stick to them; plenty of restaurant experience!!! Never again!!!

While we are grateful a few employees showed up to work, the food was terrible. I ordered the ribs. They tasted like dirty socks. Looked like they were a few days old, dried out and microwaved. No amount of sauce could help them. The corn was so water logged, it was just as gag worthy as the ribs. Husband got the country chicken and said it was dry and flavorless. $48 meal that was not edible!
