The others ate sushi and thought it was good tooService - Funny, we ate at an Applebee's for lunch and had the worst service imaginable. There was a hilarious difference at Katsu-Ya Knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and prompt.Atmosphere - I'm a gamer and it reminded me of hanging out at a location in Deus Ex.One of the best experiences I've had.. The bartender's recommendations are always excellent and the food is always top notch. The Hibachi and Yakiniku are a great choice but even the sushi, sashimi, and apps consistently stand out as a highlight on Katsu-Ya's menu.

Husband and I came for our anniversary dinner. Waiting for drinks at the bar for dinner and of course they are a little busy but no one even lifted their heads. The bartender Jenny, was done serving drinks blatantly ignored us! We even sat right in front of her and she wasn’t serving anyone else and still refused to acknowledge us! A bartender that was doing other duties had acknowledged us and I told him what had happened and thanked him for serving us. He apologized and was doing a good job. Jenny said it was his fault joking and still ignored us the rest of the evening. She was very aware of our presence and chose not to serve us! So disappointed with servers!! Our special night and terrible service. It’s staff like this that ruin a great place.

Had a party of 4 two ordered Hibachi, the other two ordered Sushi. The two orders of Hibachi, one was Salmon the other was a Swordfish and Filet Mignon combo both had great flavor, cooked as ordered and large portions. Interacting with the chef and his showmanship was fantastic. The problem was the two orders of Sushi a California Roll and a Shrimp Tempura took 45 minutes to come out. The other couple had to sit there and watch us eat our Hibachi until we were almost finished, we where told by our waitress all the food would be served at the same time. The Sushi rolls tasted great but because of the wait 4 stars rating.
One can never get in this place. We have tried over 10 times for several years. First come, first serve, no true reservations. Look elsewhere for event planning.

We love both areas of this restaurant.We’ve had the Hibachi which was great and we’ve also eaten on the restaurant side which offers a variety of Japanese dishes which are delicious and affordable.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly. Kids love watching the Hibachi grill
the food was good but after waiting in line because the place does not take reservations on Friday or Saturday night, the wait staff seemed overwhelmed. the kitchen also seemed slow and uncoordinated. drinks took a long time to arrive and the food even longer, showing up in waves rather than all at once.

Seating in bar area was terrible, seating pitches you out, get lower chairs or stools!!!! Most uncomfortable ever had in restaurant!!! Service and people where fantastic!!!!!! The food was Great!! Seating around grill was good. Enjoyed everything except waiting area, no alternative to high seats!!!!!!
