Terrible ownership. Doesn't pay hit staff and is constantly out of menu items

The Caramello is a coffee experience like none other Ive ever had. My son ordered it and let me try. It was amazeballs.

One of the best lattes I’ve had. Extremely smooth espresso and very well balanced flavors.

My fiancé and I come up to Appleton for a stay-cation once a year. Lawlss is our favorite stop. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Super personable staff. And most of all amazing coffee and muffins. Our favorite café in Appleton.

Edit: increasing from 2 to 4 stars based on the owner's response. The offer of a refund/gift card is appreciated but not necessary as I was visiting from out of town. I appreciate their ownership of the issue.

I had a really strange experience this morning. Ordered a hot latte, and the cashier (who was also the one making drinks) said he “wasn’t a barista” and would really appreciate if we ordered iced drinks because he “didn’t know how to steam milk”. Ordered iced instead and a biscuit sandwich from the menu. Asked if we could have it on a bagel instead because they don’t have biscuits. Skipped that in favor of a morning bun. He asked if we were planning to stick around because we needed to take it to go since he was “about to close it up”… at 8am. Drinks were taking awhile until a new barista came in. Some sort of disagreement ensued and the original cashier left the building. The new barista asked us what we’d ordered and said there were no names on the drinks so he wasn’t sure who was going to get what. When we did get our drinks, they were good, but I think we got smalls when we ordered mediums. Based on the other reviews, I think we caught an off morning, but some fixes need to be made before I’d come back.

If you’re looking for a relaxed cozy corner to enjoy lunch or just a cup of Java, this could be your new hangout. Conveniently located downtown Appleton plenty of parking on any of the side streets and a quick short walk from almost anywhere downtown and worth it. I really enjoyed my flat white coffee treats, and customer service today at Lawless Coffee. Thanks to the staff. Everything was great. Super atmosphere With high ceilings, beautiful brick walls, Florida ceiling windows, natural light, calm, feeling grade vibes, and people. Can’t wait to go back for more. Namaste.

I love stopping at their Neenah location for a hot or iced Oat Milk Chai Latte. Add a little lavender.. you won't be disappointed! Friendly workers, too.

The coffee is phenomenal. Stephen, the owner, takes coffee making from a craft into a passion. I have not had a single bad cup of coffee. And the pastries are a fantastic addition! Overall, a wonderful establishment with passionate batistas who know their coffee.

From Scotland. Best coffee I’ve ever had in the US, or even in Europe! Incredible, really cool, vibe centric shop and amazing flavour. Recommend the flat white!

Neat coffee shop, service is standard for a coffee shop that takes itself too seriously- so really dependent on your vibe I think.

The coffee is sub par for me- had an americano that simply tasted like they used drip coffee that was put in the fridge overnight- thin and sour. Thinking it was perhaps my personal preference for how I make espresso at home I bought a bag and took it home- very sour even with a generous dose of milk (no sugar- there’s enough in milk for me).

I’m utilizing a Delonghi specialista- so nothing special and certainly more limited on grind sizes than say a Breville 870- but I can usually make coffee me and my wife love. And considering I didn’t like it at the shop, I think it’s the bean I don’t like.
