Missfits Tavern – Where the Tornado Missed, but the Vibes Hit!
Last Thursday night, stranded in the swirling chaos that is Appleton, WI weather (seriously, Mother Nature was throwing hands with tornado warnings), I decided to brave the storm and meet the local wildlife — aka the fine folks at Missfits Tavern.
Now, let’s be honest: turnout was... let’s call it “exclusive.” A grand total of four brave souls and one absolute legend of a bartender named Lucia (that’s Loo-SEE-ah, thank you very much — shorten it at your own risk).
Despite the empty barstools, the atmosphere was electric. We jammed to killer tunes, bonded over a game show, and vibed out to an electronic music festival Lucia had playing on one of the TVs — which, fun fact, she was supposed to be attending, but she took the shift so her friend could go instead. That’s the kind of bartender energy we need more of: responsible, yet still cool enough to blast EDM at work.
We laughed. We jammed. We watched The Godfather with subtitles while headbanging. It was like a cinematic rave mixed with small-town Midwestern charm and a splash of existential storm drama.
The drinks? On point. The bartender? Top-tier. The crowd? Small, weird, wonderful. The experience? 10/10, would absolutely dodge a tornado again to vibe here.
Stay weird, Missfits. You’ve got yourself a fan.

It's a come as you are kinda place... pretty cool...no issues...no problems...if you do not understand the definition of Eclectic....don't stop in...I'm a square toe cowboy boot in my Carhartt bibs guy ....ain't seen a person in there dressed like me...dam sure met alotta cool people tho..and the bartenders are the greatest!!????

Good bar sorta on casual days..but drug dealers hang around there...also wasps in the spring, summer and even fall time are flying in the BAR!! to think if someone was allergic..instant lawsuit, easy case...during big events they still have one bartender struggling to keep up with a large crowd, simple things can be fixed just talk to HOLLY (THE OWNER) about it, which won't do u no good........bartenders like Izzy stealing people's money is another red flag as well!!!

It is a dog-friendly place unless the manager comes in and then she has such a bad attitude and is not very dog friendly unless it's her dog or someone she knows. The dog friendly thing is only for certain dogs that's why there's rarely another dog in the bar

I like this bar alot. The Wednesday karaoke is great. My only complaint is the creepy townees and homeless looking people that come in. Would love to see more missfits here and less creepy old people.

I asked the bartender for a suggestion of a sour or brine-y drink. The bartender very rudely told me I had a menu in front of me. Sorry, I asked an expert for detection. Don't come for hospitality. Good drinks and atmosphere though.

There was nobody there so I had to give a nobody a star of being fair. I was only there for 1 person besides them. And the bar general yup, pretty dry.

I travel all over the United States and have been to 1000’s of bars. This is a GREAT bar. Great vibes, great atmosphere, great prices, our group had a blast here. We were in town for a week and went here at least three times. Highly recommend. To those giving low reviews of this place, perhaps you would be happier at Applebees.
