This WAS my favorite bar in Appleton until I just went there with my 82 year old mother who uses a walker. They refused to serve us and refused to explain. I think that is discrimination plain and simple. I refuse to support a supposedly non biased establishment and I hope none of you do either. We simply walked in and the owner and the bartender both refused to serve us. I will call the proper authorities and file a complaint to try and take their license for this.

This is a safe, inclusive bar with Gothic and punk themes. The staff overseeing the event did great. Everything was well organized and the sound for the metal show I was there for was top-notch. I will definitely will return with friends! Thank you Missfits.

It feels weird to have people gambling behind you while drinking and not be in a casino. There's people playing pool, typically friendly. No live music when I went, would've preferred that. This seems to be a regulars type of place as the bartenders seemed to know quite a few people.

Missfits Tavern â Where the Tornado Missed, but the Vibes Hit!
Last Thursday night, stranded in the swirling chaos that is Appleton, WI weather (seriously, Mother Nature was throwing hands with tornado warnings), I decided to brave the storm and meet the local wildlife â aka the fine folks at Missfits Tavern.
Now, letâs be honest: turnout was... letâs call it âexclusive.â A grand total of four brave souls and one absolute legend of a bartender named Lucia (thatâs Loo-SEE-ah, thank you very much â shorten it at your own risk).
Despite the empty barstools, the atmosphere was electric. We jammed to killer tunes, bonded over a game show, and vibed out to an electronic music festival Lucia had playing on one of the TVs â which, fun fact, she was supposed to be attending, but she took the shift so her friend could go instead. Thatâs the kind of bartender energy we need more of: responsible, yet still cool enough to blast EDM at work.
We laughed. We jammed. We watched The Godfather with subtitles while headbanging. It was like a cinematic rave mixed with small-town Midwestern charm and a splash of existential storm drama.
The drinks? On point. The bartender? Top-tier. The crowd? Small, weird, wonderful. The experience? 10/10, would absolutely dodge a tornado again to vibe here.
Stay weird, Missfits. Youâve got yourself a fan.
