The mall experience is very scarce these days. We are 90's kids and the mall is our second home. When ours closed, we ventured here. Sarku is one of the more decent eats is here. Through the years though, Sarku Japan have gone downhill. They no longer char the meat, provide steamed carrots and broccoli, provide hot chili oil, or the ability to select your own eating utensils. Yes, they give you one fork per order. No napkins either. Primarily chicken thighs are used for the chicken teriyaki order. I haven't had any other meats. The dumplings are subpar. Double meat is an option but I never do. You can also ask for more sauce, without extra charge. Fried rice is $.50 more. The meal is huge enough to share. At $10 a pop, it's a cheap and fulfilling lunch. I personally find this at a better deal than most restaurant at this mall.

I used to enjoy this place but over the last few years I can see it going downhill. We always got the chicken teriyaki when we were in the mall. First, they stopped giving chili/sriracha sauce (yes, I know of the shortage). Then they started charging extra for fried rice. It was the last straw for me when I got the eye roll from the cashier. I had ordered 2 with fried rice and 1 with white rice. The cashier guy must've only heard me order 2. As he handed me 2 forks and I asked if I could get a 3rd fork he rolled his eyes. I get that everything is going up in price and I was okay with it as I still got the food when we went to the mall, but the annoying customer service that time doesn't deserve my money. I could've went back to order another dish but I decided to save my money to use elsewhere. Asking for a single "extra" fork shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Affordable, fast. Food is cooked In bulk, chicken is largely dark meat, the chicken teriyaki was oily and as the meal cooled, the rice turned to mush. I did not enjoy and will not be back.

Absolutely mediocre. I had Korean bbq (beef) the taste was below average and most definitely not fresh it tasted reheated. And my portion was cold! When I shared this with the server she offered to microwave it for me! Not refire my dish. What was I going to do right but choke it down. I will not return. If you have ever enjoyed Korean food, even what’s available in the Midwest I’d say pass. I’ve had exceptional Korean food and was excited to try this restaurant. It was a Friday at 8:30pm with only two other tables now we know why. The atmosphere consisted of children of what I expected where the owner screeching and running around. I know this restaurant had a previous incarnation and did very well. And some folks enjoy it. Unfortunately it was an all around fail. Sometimes we should let the dead tend to the dead.

Koreana has the BEST food in the Midwest and the best service! I travel to big cities for work and obviously I have to eat, but even there, those restaurants cannot compete with the tastes of Koreana! It's my favorite place!

This restaurant on the north end of Appleton in a strip mall boasts a wide variety of authentic Korean meals and other fine dining options. At this time the Sushi Bar was closed (but overheard it will reopen soon), but the Korean food off the menu is worth the trip on its own. I had the Seafood Bulgogi, an interesting twist on a veteran choice, and was pleasantly impressed with how the vegetables served complimented the shrimp and scallops. This meal can be prepared from mild to spicy on a 10-point scale. I went right in the middle and it added a good amount of heat without being overbearing. Then we get into the sides that come with it. A Korean meal is the king of sides, and the sides here are almost all you need for a fantastic meal. The kimchi is flavorful without being too vinegar-y. For someone who isn't used to some of the stronger kimchis, this is a good way to start. I also order the pork mandu appetizer, the dumplings are lightly fried and a perfectly pared with a soy sauce. The dumplings have their unique flavor and pair well with the sauce. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive to the diners. An incredibly pleasant dining experience, and is on par with Korean restaurants in Chicagoland. It also is now a contender for my top spot in Appleton for a meal. I highly recommend for that special dinner occasion, to try a new cuisine, or just to have some good quality food.

Came here with my friend a week or two ago. The employees were efficient and quick, and it was interesting to watch them cook the food. I love their chicken teriyaki and veggie noodles. Amazing! It was steaming hot, cooked fully, and made fresh. Favorite spot to eat in the Fox River Mall.

The food here is delicious! Freshly cooked right in front of you. My daughter and I eat here at least once a week. The servings are enough for two satisfying meals. All for less than 10.00

This place is inexpensive, good quantity, and pretty darn decent quality. I have been eating here since I was little and used to go to the mall with my dad to shop for "back to school clothes". I always get the same dish...chicken teriyaki, double meat, fried rice, sauteed veg, and extra sauce. They cook your meal to order, so it is always fresh and piping hot. The staff is efficient and friendly. If I am craving greasy Chinese food, this is my favorite place in Appleton. It is literally two meals in one, for only $7. The location is the only downfall, it is located in the Northwoods Cafe in the Fox Valley mall (insert eye roll here).
