Been going here for awhile but has really started to go downhill. Too much competition from the all you can eat places just blocks away with fresher ingredients. Still acceptable but better options out there.

Came here with my parents and son last night since this was a recommended place for me. The service here is awful stood at the door and the gentleman didn’t smile just gave me a nasty look, stood some more and this lady came out sat us at a table with no menus. We waited 10 minutes than she started shouting for us to scan menus we were confused we didn’t understand. Food took 50 minutes to come out and tables that sat after us had before us . Even though the foods amazing I won’t be coming back your paying money so I think service should be up to par. I really hope the owner reads these reviews and does something .

TJs food is my favorite in the Fox Valley. The best sushi. Shishimi, nigiri. Or my favorite the rolls. Its all very good. If.younare not a fan of raw fish the other dishes are great, too. I have never seen a more hard-working staff.
The stand outs are the..
TJ roll
Dynamite roll.
Naruto roll.
Wisconsin roll (deep fried mmmm)

Should have read reviews before I went there. Got carry out today and the place was completely empty and no one around. Went to the sushi counter and he called someone out. He grabbed the containers and put lids on I paid. 80 dollars for some special rolls. Got home and could not eat any of it. The fish was clearly old and was horrible!
The avocado was grey and brown and the sauce was everywhere. The spicy tuna roll was unbearable. Very fishy smelling and so dry I spit it out. This is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. We threw out the entire order. Don’t go here!

The sushi was excellent! Great presentation and delicious taste!
Decor and atmosphere were promising, quite similar to Nakashima or Katsu-Ya. It is unfortunate the Hibachi section was closed. The server was prompt, polite, and attentive. The food on the other hand, was quite terrible. The egg rolls we ordered were undercooked and the filling was bland, reminiscent of frozen store-bought egg rolls. Edamame was good, but laden with too much salt. Tempura was decent but the batter was not as crunchy as expected, but portion size was small compared to the price.Main course was decent for taste, but still too small or a portion for the price, especially the special rolls. Case in point, we ordered the Black Dragon Sushi Roll at $16 and they came out the same size and number of pieces as the $7.5 Yellowtail Scallion Rolls. In the Fox Valley, you are better off going to Nakashima or Katsu-Ya.Drink was good, though. Wife ordered the Martini and it was delish.TL;DRAppetizer and Sushi were not good to decent, but not worth the price. Drinks were good. Not sure about the Thai entrees.

Guy running the place clearly wanted to be somewhere else. Had the personality of a wet mop. Food was OK, definitely not worth the price or going back to be treated like we were a burden instead of paying customers.

No one greeted us upon our arrival. The sushi chef told us to seat ourselves and had to yell at the singular waiter to come out from the back to take our orders. It felt like we were getting “punked” with how horrible the waiter was. He was moody, disheveled and you could feel his sigh.Took 25 minutes to get a glass of water and he never gave us physical menus. We ordered from the menus on our phones. Why did we stay? The sushi rolls looked so good online! We kept holding out hope that this was the lull in-between Sunday lunch and dinner. Also no hibachi tables available until they hire enough staff per their paper signs taped onto their TVs.Food was meh but if you really hate your dinner buddy, I’d recommend this restaurant 100/10.Otherwise, just keep driving. The roads are all blocked off by the universe trying to deter you from coming here and making the same mistakes we made.

I wish I could get my money back, I don’t know what’s happened at this place, we got shrimp chicken hibachi tonight, my husband saw a sign on the door that said the hibachi was broken, well, then why did they let me call in an order? It was not edible, the veggies hibachi are usually so good, they were soggy, the shrimp was no flavor and not sure how it was cooked, the chicken I didn’t eat, seemed like it was microwaved, I will not be back, I don’t have $30 to waste on food like this,

Decided to try it because I was given a reference from some friends who told me that they used to come here all the time because it's fantastic.Walked in, and I was the only one there. Stood by server station for about 5 mins, and then just decided to seat myself. Took another 15 mins for someone to walk over to take my order, and I tried to order 6 different drinks but was told they had none of them.I asked the server about the food, and he said, "Eh." Not kidding, direct quote. Got up from the table and just left. The entire time I was there, the server said maybe 5 words to me, all with an attitude, and when he wasn't staring blankly at me, was playing on his phone.Came here expecting to spend between 100 and 200 dollars, ended up at island sushi where I got fantastic service for a great price. I will never recommend this restaurant. Go to McDonald's instead; They've given me a better experience than this place.

Food isn't good. Server friendly but too talkative. Restaurant is dirty. The server said the owner was too cheap to update the website. I didn't even go in or ask for Hibachi, and the server said people ask for it and he tells them just because it's on our website doesn't mean it accurate and then he asked customers how to fix the website because he's not good at coding. My friend ordered a salad and he just said no and as we both looked at him confused he said that they just throw in whatever old vegetables they have in the fridge. Odd experience. I asked for my steak rare and it tasted like it was boiled. My rice was dry.

I like this place. I will go back. Totally empty on a Saturday afternoon. I don't understand why. It was a good experience that I will enjoy again and again...
