For the most part the VFW in Appleton is closed. If you have a lot of money and you would like to donate it to get the VFW going again it would be great. I was there for a Boy Scout meeting. The VFW sponsors Boy Scout Troop 67

The staff I interacted with were all fantastic. The bartender approached me quickly despite talking with regulars. She answered my questions and was friendly. I sat in on the line dancing class and had a lot of fun. The teachers were fantastic and full of energy. I had fun even though I didnt participate. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they charge for water like several bars seem to have started doing.

Non profit tried charging me $10 to park my car for 5 minutes while I was in it and it was running. Also pounded on my car window and yelled at me. Will not be supporting your business for that reason.

Breading on wallye was absolutely stiff from frying it too long. Switch to Zataran's brand. Also, I suggest all kitchen help and servers eat what they will serve tonight.

Everybody can do fish, good or bad. The VFW in my opinion does it very well. I like the walleye dinner a brandy old fashion and a white Russian as dessert. That's only half of it, the other half is the staff so much fun great at what they do. My favorite place for fish, I have never been disappointed

I've been going here for 20 years,the place was usually dirty and unkempt but the wait help was truly wonderful and the food was magnificent. You could not ask for better. I quit going there about a year ago because the place was now very clean,had a bit of remodeling done but the food portions were close to non-existent and the flavor was just blah! Everything had changed. The wait times for our food was almost an hour on three occasions and once we just left,telling the waitress we had a party to attend which we did. I went back there tonite just to see if things had improved after more than a year away. It was worse! The food portions were minute,I ordered a 2 piece chicken dinner with baked haddock. if the haddock was 2 onces it was a miracle,the 2 pieces of chicken were a wing and a thigh that could have not been 3 ounces together! Truly!Flavor was almost non existent! This was accompanied by a small slice of rye bread and the broccoli that I ordered was 3 pieces! 3 pieces of broccoli!! I was actually insulted that a restaurant would serve a dish like this! After I left I went to another restaurant and had an appetizer as I was still hungry. I was a food and beverage manager for years and I would never in this world serve portions this small and tasting like this. I will never be back until I see the sign"Under new management". The worst part of this is that I really loved this place. I should have know when I drove up and the parking lot was less than half full that things were still sub par.
