Just passing through. Stopped for late dinner. Was very busy. Was offered a seat at one of the bars. Our drinks arrived as fast as we could make up our minds. Food order taken and delivered very quickly. Whitefish was awesome!Bar tenders were happy and efficient.Parking: Tons of free options within 200 yards of front door.

Came here for a Lental Friday Fish Fry while traveling to Ashland for Book Across the Bay. Wanted a fish fry for Lent & it did not disappoint. The beer selections were good local beers with only be $6 a pint, very reasonable. My girlfriend got the beer battered & it looked amazing. I was craving something blackened or Cajun & loved my decision. Many places will give the non fried fish choices much smaller pieces but here they did not do this. For $20 it was right on point from a price perspective compared to most Wisconsin places nowadays. Also sweet potato fries not being extra was great. Great indoor decor atmosphere. Very nice place to catch a meal on a weekend night in town.

Food was meh. Found moldy grapes in my toddlers plate and nothing was done about it even though we brought it up twice. Food was definitely not as good as the price would make it seem. Not very friendly staff. Lighting is poor. Probably to hide the subpar food.Parking: Street parking is few and far between, but free. Theres a parking lot behind the building for the hotel, but its for hotel customers only. Expect to walk.

We were visiting from out of state and had party of 12. Arrived right when it opened and greeted by very unfriendly staff. Only four of the twelve was even there upon being seated and still the Hostess/server clearly annoyed we had a large group and server wasn’t much more friendly. They could not split our tabs before we ordered and wanted to make sure we clearly read their signs of 20% gratuity automatically added onto the bill for party of our size. We are perfectly fine with 20% gratuity if we felt welcome and wanted. Ordered bloody Mary’s and they said they were out and had to go across street to buy some mix. Very cool atmosphere inside. A local patron was super friendly telling us all about the restaurant and bar, too bad he didn’t work there as he was much more excited about the place than the employees. We didn’t try food or drinks we chose to leave and give our business at a place that was very welcoming and happy to have our business.

Very disappointing as we tried to bring a group of 12 from out of state to this restaurant and we definitely annoyed the hostess and they were unwelcoming. We left without ordering. Maybe staff was having a bad morning. Cool ambiance.

We always love going to Deep Water / The Alley. When we dine in we typically sit in the middle bar so we can order from either side of the restaurant if we choose to. The burgers, pizzas, wings, specials, drinks and more... so good! We're treated so well by the staff - they always create ongoing conversations with us & make us feel welcomed! A must go for your lunch or dinner plans.
