My mother made a reservation in advance for my birthday dinner. When we arrived, the restaurant doors were locked and the interior lights were dim, which left us very confused. After waiting outside for a short time, someone eventually came from the back to unlock the door.
The employee asked if we were the reservation, and when we confirmed, he informed us that the restaurant had closed early due to the weather because some employees had long commutes. While we understand that weather can impact operations, it was very disappointing that we were not notified in advance. The restaurant had our contact information through the reservation, and a phone call would have prevented us from making the hour-long drive.
Unfortunately, this situation completely disrupted our birthday celebration and left us very disappointed. The lack of communication felt unprofessional and reflected poor customer service.

This was our first visit since the restaurant reopened approximately one year ago. On past visits we always had excellent service and food. That hasn't changed.
We had a reservation and immediate seating. We started with escargot. I thought it was just ok. I've had better. My husband liked it more than I did.
I had the filet mignon and my husband had the bone in ribeye. I upgraded to the French onion soup. My other side was the mushroom risotto. My husband's sides were a salad and hand cut French fries.
The entrees and sides were all excellent. The steaks were delicious and so tender no knife was needed.
Our server, Vincent was attentive and friendly. Our food arrived quickly but we weren't rushed.
We highly recommend and plan to return.

Hands down, best kept secret in the Baraboo / Dells area. The food is always incredible and has great portions. Salads and bread service come with each meal— salads are always very fresh and bread is addicting! My husband always opts for the 10oz filet and gets it blue cheese encrusted, while I like to try the chef’s specials. Both of which, we have never been disappointed with! The prices are extremely fair for the quality and portions. And, because it is such a best kept secret (for now) we’ve never encountered a wait to be seated.

In town for deer season and decided to try my luck at blackjack. Did well enough to treat myself to a fancy dinner. I had the French onion soup and the jumbo seared scallops, plus a Manhattan to wash it down with. Food and drink were excellent. My server, Olga, was very sweet and attentive.
Only complaint is that I'd like to see some more whiskey options on the menu.

I had the pleasure of trying Bill’s homemade cheesecake, and it was absolutely amazing! The creamy texture was spot on—rich but perfectly balanced. The fresh blueberries and Bill’s own blueberry jam added just the right touch of sweetness and tartness. Every bite tasted like pure comfort.
Paired with a glass of white wine at the bar, it made for the perfect treat and a relaxing evening. You can really taste the care and quality that went into making this dessert. Highly recommend trying it if you get the chance!

We sat next to the chef earlier at a local breakfast place. He ended up beating us to the punch buying the Vietnam veteran at the end of the table his breakfast after he left, we learned from the waitress that he was the head chef at Copper Oak Steakhouse where they use a plancha grill and decided we had to see it for ourselves.
We came here on Wednesday night and it was one of the most incredible dinners that we've ever had. We had king cut prime rib and an aged 21 day bone-in ribeye. The mushroom risotto is a must have, but everything was phenomenal. Maria was our server and Daniel is the chef. We didn't officially learn his name until he came out to the table to make sure that everything was to our liking. It was perfect. Five stars. We will be here again very soon. Friendly service and extremely good food!

We had such a wonderful dining experience! Sitting by the fireplace made the evening extra cozy and relaxing. I ordered the walleye and my husband had the porterhouse steak—both dishes were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was excellent. Highly recommend this place for a warm and memorable meal!

This was not only fabulous but the bill for
2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine was $105. Wood fired 14 oz ribeye was delicious with mushrooms
Claim chowder and baked potato for me. My dining partner order walleye and he said it was also excellent. This was a score !
