Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

We've made this our annual stop when in the Dells. This time our coffee and food was cold, we needed to request eating utensils twice and butter and jelly must be requested items only. They are not automatically provided, even when you have toast with your breakfast. Our visit this time was a big disappointment. You're even greeted with purchasing pressure when you walk in or are browsing the gift shop. Such an unfortunate turn of events

Great food and friendly team members!

My visit was to shop in the country store. I was more than pleased with my experience. I was able to purchase great gifts as well as Christmas items for myself. The staff was very helpful and kind.

The restaurant was very busy, we were seated quickly, it took awhile before we were given menus, we had a split ticket order and somehow our food for me and my girlfriend was not prepared with the other order at our table. The problem was quickly rectified and our food was very good.

Parking: We were able to park right up front, even though it was very busy

I have to normally ask for ketchup and honey a could if times when I order meatloaf and biscuits. Not sure why they don’t bring it before the meal if you ask for it.

The new server was chatting for a long time with a single customer. We just had to walk up front and get our receipt. Too long of wait.

Needs more training.

Tina Marie was our server. She was fantastic and took such good care of us. She is a gem. I have always loved your Chicken and Dumplings. I order them all the time, even when I order breakfast. I'll take the Chicken and dumplings home.

Took 12 minutes to get waited on (seven full tables in entire restaurant). Waiter had three tables. None of his tables got the right food. Waiter needed clarity twice on definition of hot water. Table was dirty. Food was not hot. Thank goodness for online bill pay so I could leave without any more hassle. Will not be back.

Servers here get weeded quick. Be sure to ask for jelly asap because they bring out endless amounts of butter packets but give 1 jelly for a table of 5. Food was and is good though I will say that.

Very disappointed they are no longer serve roast beef, which means we won’t be going to this location again. I Ordered Country fried steak and it was old, dry, tasted bad, lukewarm warm, and the gravy was a weird thick blob of mashed potato consistency. Out of fries, so little guy had mac and cheese instead, which he didn’t like or eat.
They did take off the charge for country fried steak. The reason we always stopped was for the roast beef, since it is gone ..so is our business. As you can see, some of the hashbrown potatoes were burned and portion size small.

We like sitting by the fireplace, so we eat at 6 or 7am when they open.

Thanksgiving day stopped for breakfast. Everything came out cold eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes. Manager lacking customer service professionalism open mouth chewing gum when speaking with customers. Definitely not returning for that disaster again.

Do not go here! Probably avoided food poisoning. Went for breakfast on Thanksgiving. After waiting for 20 mins (I expected a wait, so that was fine) for 2 of the Grandma's Sampler, all of the food arrived cold. Couldn't even spread butter on the pancakes because they were room temp and hard. Ham hadn't even been warmed from the fridge, sausage and eggs were room temp. The only warm things on the table were the plates themselves. Complained to the manager who was very dismissive. Will never go again!
