We stumbled upon this amazing place while staying in Bayfield. Very attentive owner and staff! Knowledgeable and great detail about all dishes. Drinks and food were well prepared and wonderfully presented. Will definitely be back on future trips! Fun date night location!

Just had drinks before dinner, but was the perfect quiet, relaxing ombiance after a day of hiking and a shower. I plan to come back for the food, but the cocktails were fantastic. Lovely romantic date.

This place was recommended to us for a bachelorette party dinner for 16 girls. My group contacted Larry (owner) in advance who curated a 5 course menu for us based on our budget and boy did he deliver.
The tables were set when we arrived with a gorgeous charcuterie board. Our second course was an herby salad, followed by a truly life changing 24 layer vegetarian lasagna. After the lasagna we each were served a perfectly cooked steak medallion over asparagus and purée (to die for). And finally a perfect caramel flan for dessert.
We had wine with dinner but the group opted to order cocktails as well and the Espresso Martini and French 75 were incredible.
I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in Bayfield!

We had a bachelorette party of about 15 and my goodness did Bates Art Bar deliver one of the most special nights ever! The staff and ownership are truly a one of a kind group. The cocktails were easily some of the best I’ve ever had, specifically the espresso martini! If you are in town, make SURE to stop by! Thank you Bates Art Bar!

Great place to spend a relaxing time with friends. This was my second visit here and I will definitely return. I had a very tasty Smoked Manhattan (made with brandy instead of rye) and three of us shared a delicious charcuterie board. Well-designed interior, including the art deco bathrooms. Interesting selection of wines and the way wine is stored (and poured) is unique. Bates Art Bar is a great addition to Bayfield!
