A real surprise in downtown Bayfield. This is such a great little bar that serves a really good martini. The food also looked very good although we did not eat there. The bartender was really friendly as was the owner. I look forward to going back.

My daughter and I are in town for the weekend. We just had the most wonderful dinner at Bates Art Bar. There was no wait, the service was excellent and the food - AMAZING! Everything is made in-house. We had the lasagna and the stuffed Bagette Bites and then had New York cheesecake for dessert. So, so, so good. The chef brought out our meal and the dessert and stayed to talk with us. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. We had no idea what an art bar was and as we left we decided that the food was the art.

Really delightful. We enjoyed a delicious and generous charcuterie board with several cheeses, meats and house made bread. Great self serve wine selection. Bar staff was just attentive enough. Finished off with easily the best creme caramel I've ever had (including many, many in France).
Also excellent musician playing perfect mood music.

We stumbled upon this amazing place while staying in Bayfield. Very attentive owner and staff! Knowledgeable and great detail about all dishes. Drinks and food were well prepared and wonderfully presented. Will definitely be back on future trips! Fun date night location!
