Great food & service.Tasty specials.
Had breakfast there. The food was fine, but the serving portion was a bit small.
Great food ,great service, little small, tad bit $$.. closes at 2pm
Yea yea yea I know it is quite far north, someone would say: who would find a good place to eat in that area? That is in the middle of nowhere.
Let me tell you that The Red School Cafe is one of the coziest and coolest dinners I’ve ever visited in Illinois; btw, it used to be a school.
Very well prepared and delicious food… give it a try!!!
Been here many times, their menu has changed in the past year since the last time I was there. Was very good. Had a country fried steak skillet. Great quality and good quantity. Love bringing my kids here.
Great little place. Great food.

First time diners in a unique setting. The dining room is small but the outside patio helps. The meal was delivered to the table hot and prepared as ordered. It could have been just a Saturday thing but the service I thought was a bit lacking. No refills on the coffee and no attention between delivery and handing of the bill.

Had breakfast here with a couple of friends. First time here for all of us, and we loved it! Our server was friendly and attentive and our food (eggs, sausage, pumpkin pancakes) were delicious. The pumpkin pancakes are a must-try. They are served with a minimal amount of maple syrup on them (I forgot to ask if it was pure maple syrup, I hope it was!), nuts and topped with a delicious maple butter. The inside is very small but very charming, homey atmosphere. Not wheelchair friendly as you have to climb a small set of stairs to go inside the dining area.

Found the Red School Cafe by looking for a unique breakfast restaurant to take my wife while on a few hour "get away". The place was quaint with several creative menu items to choose from. They had quite a selection of different egg and pancake or French Toast combos as well as a whole school chalkboard with specials. My wife had the pumpkin pancake combo while I had the stuffed potato pancakes. Both were excellent! Was surprised that the small place had modernized "scan the QR code" to check out... ?

Want to try something new. Head to red Cafe just over the Wisconsin border. Service was very friendly. Food was good. I enjoyed the breakfast quesadilla, oatmeal, and stuffed biscuit. Coffee was tasty.
