“Great food, hospitality and service at a fair price!“

“I can't say enough good things about the people at Red Oak. Everyone who works there is delightful, friendly, professional, and accommodating. Their mission of serving local farm foods is also wonderful, and not only helps the community, but I feel better about what I'm feeding my family. The chef crafts a seasonal menu and great specials based around what is in season. Plus the food is delicious. We typically come for Sunday brunch, but dinners are equally great. We live in Illinois but spend time in the area frequently during warmer months, and dine here regularly. Family friendly. Great patio (occasional bees, beware). Fireplace in colder months. Retail items like locally made jams. Highly recommended!“

“We rented a pontoon boat from Spring Lake Marina and we’re very happy and satisfied with the experience. The staff was professional as well as friendly, explaining everything we needed to know to have a successful 4 hours rental. The equipment was as advertised and in top condition. We would definitely rent through them again if going to the “Chain O’ Lakes.” We went to Petite Lake and Marie Lake. Also, we rented a Tube to pull us around the lake. Great Fun!“

“We live 2.5 hours south of Lake Villa, but we were meeting some friends from Florida for dinner. They were in the area for their grandson’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Academy. Found this place via Google and it had great reviews, with good reason. We wish we lived closer because it would be a favorite for sure. Probably the best bruschetta and lasagna I’ve had in a very long time. Everyone loved their entrees. We tried multiple pasta dishes and the pizza. “Parking is a hassle. BUT this place is so clean and the water is not too cold or dirty. It was our 1st time there and will definitely be coming back. I'm pretty sure that young Costco member was referring to an illicit drug but only in the hyperbolic sense of the word, meaning great or super great! That pizza really is super great. The ice cream or maybe it's frozen custard, IDK, is sick, meaning great. Sometimes I drive my old S10 over during the lunchtime rush, get myself a slice and a Pepsi, grab a bench, put up my Kirkland's and enjoy. Best $2 lunch ever.For the newbies a few words. 1. You order and pay at the kiosks next to the benches. 2. If you take out, you don't need to show your food court food receipt. 3. There are no straws, usually. The lids for the Pepsi's just pull back. It's better for the planet to not use straws. 4. Invite others to share your bench with you. That's optional but zen AF.“

“The food is great for a more than fair price. My personal favorite is the lemon pepper chicken with rice & baby carrots. I don’t know what they put on the carrots but they’re perfectly seasoned. Always a perfect meal. The croissants. Can’t forget the croissants. Had 2 of them. They’re so good. Our waiter, Andrew, was amazing & his General Manager so nice. My only complaint is that there is no cheddars near where I live. I NEED a cheddars in Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Summit or Portage counties Ohio. That would totally be my go to place especially in eastern Cuyahoga or western Lake county.“

“Excellent hibachi, just don't make the mistake I did and go on Monday... Their hibachi is closed on Mondays, was super disappointed as it was my son's birthday and it was the sole purpose of the visit. They still served us hibachi but less the show but the $$$ same cost... Again was not happy at all given the circumstances, this is very expensive for my family, we wanted the hibachi experience, but I suppose it's my fault for not making sure if off days.“

“We love the food and dining at Oliveris’s but I have to tell you how wonderful the staff is. We have been having a pretty bad time lately. Our son had a stroke and may never walk again and my husband shattered his right hip. We had my husband’s birthday dinner at Oliveriis with some friends and my husband had a medical issue and Sal and the staff were so kind with helping me get him into the car. I do not think that any other Restaurant would have such amazing and helpful people working for them. Sal you are wonderful. Thank you again.“

“Great food, but Not Sure For a Quick Lunch
We were driving down 173 the other day, saw their sign and tried them out for lunch. You enter into a fairly large dining room with many tables. To the left is a large bar. There was one other couple and two groups of 6-8 seniors having lunch. We later saw that the seniors were bridge players and started playing cards after lunch. Only one server/hostess was working and she worked hard. She took our drink order, ice water for me and fresh brewed Iced Tea ($3.00) for my wife. We then took to studying the expansive menu. It is just like the menu at Dockers down in Fox Lake. You name it, they have it. We see our server refilling drinks for the other diners, bringing out some appetizers, etc. and finally taking our food order. We were in no rush and just sat and talked. Then we saw our server bringing meals out to people that were there way before we got there. Not a good sign as there was another large group still to get their meals in front of us. Our drinks got refilled and we sat some more. Our food finally arrived after an easy half hour, maybe longer. She did explain that it was only her and the cook so that's what took so long. The meals were worth the wait. My wife had the Dockers Style Marinated Chicken Plate ($15.99) with fresh fruit. A warm pita was topped with a juicy and tasty Greek seasoned chicken with a side Greek salad and several slices of fresh fruit. I had the Grecian Salad with Chicken ($15.99). Prior to bringing out our meals, our server asked if I like anchovies on my Greek salad - I sure do and she loaded me up. The salad was composed of plenty of the usual Greek salad ingredients and a very tasty dressing. This could easily be shared. Our meals were excellent, fresh and flavorful! Everything we saw go by looked delicious and we would go back again if we were in the area, just not if we're pressed for time.“
