Restaurant was best in area BUT now it’s permanently closed and for sale! Unfortunately they haven’t updated any sites...don’t waste your time trying to go!
More modern upscale place and kind of pricey. Very crowded bar when we arrived. Lots of tables open in back, but for reservations, we were kind of grubby from 4 wheeling so they would not let us back there. Pretentious? I would not take kids here.
The food and drinks here are always amazing. Rob and Rachel are very friendly and work very hard to give their patrons a great experience. The service we received in the past was pretty good, but the last few times we were there (late January/early Feb) it took 3 hours start to finish. (We had reservations one of those times; ate in the bar early the last time). I suggest slightly taller stools for the tables in the bar area (Rob noticed that I needed a booster seat and brought me a tall stool from the bar
The food and drinks were amazing, which is a nice change for the area. The owners put thought and care into making it a wonderful experience overall. Highly recommend!
Second time trying this establishment and both experiences were terrible. The first time we spent over 3 hours to get our meal after making reservations 2 days ahead of time. The second we had reservations again this time we get our food orders in then about 30 minutes later the manager had to explain to our group that the owners decided to leave unexpectedly and shut the kitchen down.
Went here for a nice dinner. They always seem to be out of the Beef Carpaccio appetizer and others said the same so then take it off the menu if you don't want to make it. It was chilly in there and there was a long table of 20+ people next to the dining tables. The more they drank, the louder they got - it was like they were shouting in your ear. More bar atmosphere than fine dining experience. Our house salad had no dressing on it - just dry greens and some shaved parmesan. My pasta entree was drowned in a green sauce so thick you could not taste what you were eating. I didn't want to make a fuss but Shayla was a great server and very attentive. She offered another meal choice. It was delivered by Rachel the owner who said in a snarky tone "sorry (not sorry) you didn't like your other dish, hopefully you'll like this one.". Rachel is one of those people who has a sarcastic tone to her voice. Might be ok with friends, not good as a business owner dealing with the public. Friends of ours were dining the same night and she gave them a hard time when they asked to sit at the bar because they were very cold at their table - she told them the bar seats were reserved. Have had other negative experiences with her so we won't be coming back. Some of the food is good - my husband liked his meal that night and I have found it's hit or miss - some good things, some not. It's too expensive a place to sit being cold, waiting a long time for your food (they are slow getting food out) and listening to loud drunks. Also I ordered a glass of wine listed on the menu for $9, we were charged $11 each for the two glasses of wine instead so watch your bill. I thought it was our bad luck but others in town said they also were not impressed or were put off by Rachel.
Exceptional experience overall. The food and drinks were suburb and the hospitality from the owners was top notch. If you are in the area I highly recommend it!
We chanced it without a reservation and had dinner at the bar. Excellent service! Comfortable bar stools!! And best of all, an amazing meal!!! Dinner included soup, salad, main entree and desert all at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place!
Everything we had here, from the choice steaks to the homemade deserts, was delicious. The owners, Rob and Rachel, did everything to make sure our dining experience was a memorable one, and it was just that.
Birches served up terrific steaks accompanied by some good pasta. Definitely worth the drive.

Too Pricey and very slow poor service. Hardly no customers and finally left after waiting so long for our food that never came.
We went here for NYE and my birthday dinner after our wonderful experience last year. We loved our eating experience. We both had the stuffed prawns as an entree. Every course of the dinner was perfect from the salad to the clam chowder and the canoli. We can't wait to see what next NYE brings.
The food was awesome. But the seating wasn't. The tables were WAY. too wide and the chairs way to short. I'm 5 foot and I wanted a bar stool and my husband is 6 foot and still thought he was eating at chin level. But the food was fabulous!.
Delicious food...great drink selection...the owners are extremely nice. I had the tortellini with Alfredo sauce, wild rice soup and the garden salad. All extremely delicious.
We went to Birches on 9/18/19 and when we received our bill for 4 glasses of pinot grigio we noticed that we did not get their advertised happy hour prices(before 5:30) prices upon checkout. Their waitress initially tried to tell us that we ordered too late until I showed her what time it actually w as (5:20PM). Then she served us but upon checkout there was no happy hour discount which we questioned. The owner claimed only chardonnay & cabernet sauvignon were covered by the discount yet the waitress never mentioned that pinot grigio was not covered even after knowing we expected the happy hour discount. When I pointed out to the owner this was not made clear by their web site, she claimed they did not have the resources to modify the web site which she claimed "would cost MILLIONS of dollars)! Then I suggested their waitress should have told us pinot grigio was not covered. The next thing I know was her totally upset and angry husband was next to us demanding we leave & never return because his wife was in tears. His wife did alter the price on the pinot grigio before he arrived after a long back & forth between us. Her husband was a total j*** after the fact; he should have stayed in the kitchen. He gets an "F" in public relations. What a sorry a** operation Birches is! We're locals and we will not ever return as requested by Birches.. Steve Riley Cable, WI.
