I was stationed at Volk in 1969 as part of a detachment from Duluth. There were approximately 250 active duty personnel. I enjoyed my time there and wish I hadn't been reassigned to a base in Vietnam. Those that complain about the noise are as bad as those that buy property near a airport and then complain about the jet noise when commercial jets take off or land. It's a military base. They have been flying aircraft since 1920. The sound of freedom. To everyone who complains cause you moved into a place where they fly, F YOU. these brave people are the only reason you aren't speaking Russian or Chinese. Yes I'm a USAF vet.
