Union House Cedarburg | Restaurant & Bar

Don’t come here if you’re hungry. This was one of the most infuriating dining experiences of my entire life. It started out well and the craft cocktails were good and came out timely. It was downhill from there. We ordered 8 different tapas right at the start. 20 mins for salad, okay. Then another 20 mins for pinsa (overly doughy, sweet, underwhelming flatbread - couldn’t finish it). Then another 20 mins for burgers and tacos, both nothing to write home about. Servers/runners come to the table to drop things off, and don’t take the empty dishes! Why was the staff not trained on this at a TAPAS restaurant? Not to mention, they also don’t give you more than one personal plate, so you have to mix the residuals of the past stuff you ate with the new stuff you’re eating. I had to ask for plates to be taken away and ask for clean plates as the dishes went on. At this point it’s been an hour and we’ve barely eaten. Waitress comes over asking if we want to put in more food, and we say no but also we have barely received what we’ve ordered. She said she’ll come back. Another 30 minutes, only another one or two dishes come out - the crostini, whoever thought of that dish, needs to think about it again. At an hour and a half, the waitress asks if we’ve received everything and we say no and ask whatever is left to be cancelled which actually ended up being shrimp and corn ribs, which they “comped” (doesn’t really make sense to call it comping because it never came). Something that irked me to no end is that even though the place was almost empty, a table of 6 was seated right next to our table of 2 (after us) and they got probably 20-30 dishes in the time that we got… 6. They also got the shrimp and corn!! We overheard them ask if they could please be prioritized since they had children, and I literally think they took our “spot” in the queue for these dishes? The waitress comped one of the dishes we actually received, which was kind and not asked for, although I’m sure she does this all the time. I’m not exaggerating when I say I would not even go back to this place if you paid me.

This used to be one of our favorites but the last two visits were not what we expected. We had the same waitress both times and she's very sweet but needs to be trained and get more support. Service from the bar and kitchen were very slow. I found a hair in one of our meals as well. Also, when did they add the 3% credit card fee? It's tough for small businesses and the restaurant industry right now so I try to be understanding but this was very disappointing.

I'm a huge foodie and had no idea Union House had the high level of food that they do. So glad they began a food menu.

I never knew Union House had sit down dinner food until I stopped by with a friend in December. I was amazed at how delicious the food tasted. I loved the experience so much that I took my husband there for Christmas. He loved it! the small plates are the perfect amount of food and perfectly priced as well. Even though we didn't need them, the games at the tables are the smartest idea for a conversation starter/ice breaker. I will keep coming back to Union House to eat their food. Their carmelized brie is amazing!

The atmosphere, the drinks, the food...it was all FANTASTIC!! I took a couple of friends who hadn't been there before & they are now fans & will also be back!! Union House is a gem!!

Nice ambience. Quiet. Light on staff so had some wait. Quality of foodwas good but the taste was just okay. Exception was the yellowfin tuna seared which was fantastic!

Attentive kind friendly Welcoming I will be coming to frequent this establishment in the future. I was solo that evening and attended me with eagerness and respect

Food left much to be desired. Lots of options but underseasoned and lacking flavor. Bottled salad dressing for an overpriced simple salad. Portion sizes were at least good for the price in terms of tapas/sharing. Cocktails were delicious.

Very festive atmosphere- each time I’ve been here- summer on patio, Harry Potter themed in the fall and yesterday a holiday/winter wonderland. Drinks were good but food/tapas have consistently been underwhelming and overpriced. If I return I will skip the food and have a fun cocktail instead.
