Baked goods were excellent. Didn't have as big of a selection since it was later in the day. Very reasonable prices.
I was really hoping this place would pull through after being sold, but sadly, it has not. Quality and quantity of items have decreased. The lines to buy bakery that used to be out the door no longer exist.
I have been going here for the last 20 years and since the ownership flipped we have been so disappointed. We have made several efforts to keep our tradition alive and continue going there on our trips up north. Chetek bakery was known for their delicious baked goods and the friendly atmosphere. The service and quality of items has significantly decreased and we have had several encounters where our business has seemed to have been an inconvenience for them. On two occasions we placed custom orders both greeted with sighs, and again, implications that this was the biggest inconvenience ever. We didn’t end up placing the first custom order, gave them the benefit of the doubt, and placed the second one on a separate occasion and the product was terrible. D It did not even amount to the quality we would have gotten with the previous owner. We understand finding good work is hard and small things may have been overlooked due to being understaffed so we continued to give them grace. All while giving them grace, I noticed the new owner took the “packaged on” dates off of the packaging labels which was concerning because you could no longer tell when the items were made which implies to the idea that it wasn’t fresh. In June 2023, we made a visit and there was a label on top of an old label that you could still see that the product had been packaged on December 23, 2022. Time and time again, we have tried to keep enjoying our tradition, but with the rude owner on top of below mediocre baked good it is time to say our farewells. I hope the owner can take these comments as constructive criticism because the people have spoken. Everyone wants to see the bakery succeed as it is a hallmark of Chetek. In all fairness, the husband and son of the owner have been very kind and pleasant. However, when greeted with unpleasant signs about bathrooms and tips, it already sets a very negative tone. The experience is no longer the same. From the owners comments on these reviews you can tell just how unpleasant the experience really is right now. I would love to continue to patronize the Chetek Bakery if improvements are made.
Show up before 7:30 or you get very roude service. Very small selection and the kid behind the counter told our 3 year old not to touch the glass. It would make it too hard to clean. 1 and only sale from us. Thanks for the service. Downgraded to 1 star once we got back and was shorted 1 cream filled long john.
Baked goods are okay but we stopped today and 3 people walked out due to the wait. There were two workers chatting with 2 ladies ignoring other customers. When done chatting one went to the back and then they finally proceeded to helping same people they had been talking to. A fifteen minute wait and we walked out as well.
Fresh tasty baked good, had the Persian which cost no more than the gas station down the road, was far bigger and million times more fresh. I'll be back on the next bike ride to visit my brother-in-law. We change it up, but one fresh for me and one fresh for him
Lisa made our very special cake for my dad! The cake was delicious! She did an outstanding job on decorating and the taste was absolutely delicious! Lisa takes the time to listen to exactly what you want! Her bakery is so welcoming and feels like family everything I order something!
The Best Bakery in the area. Been going here for along time, Nice staff reusable prices food amazing! Cake are so good.
A great hometown homemade bakery. A large variety of treats with their very own tom and Jerry mix. It's a must stop if you're in the area
Donuts delicious and fresh. Purchased Christmas cookies too that were good as homemade. Large variety. Holiday themed packaging. Very satisfied!

Stopped at this bakery for the first time today. I got my kids some donut holes. We got the daily special (Boston Cream Pie.) We got a conolli (sooooooo good) and some Halloween decorated cookies. The staff was kind and friendly. The donuts were good. The conolli was the bomb. Hope to try more of their goodies!!
I was hoping for better, everything I bought lacked flavor. The brownies I bought were the worst of it. The frosting tasted old and bothered my stomach. I’m very disappointed. Ended up throwing most of it out.
I have been coming for several years to this bakery during the Labor Day weekend. With family having a camper in town I have been coming more frequently to the area all Summer. I have stopped in three times total. The bakery items themselves taste a little different but I’d disagree with them being stale or hard. They still taste good. The thing I liked best about the bakery in the past was the warm and welcoming feeling you got walking in the door. The customer service was amazing. The three times I have been in there in the last 6 months has not been the same at all. I have even gotten a couple of sighs while picking out items. It’s as if I’m bothering them ordering there. I think if you had better customer service your business would thrive. Until I hear it’s better I won’t be coming back.
Lisa the owner and chef does an amazing job. I'm know her for years and she has outstanding food and service.
Great customer service! Lisa took the time to listen to what I wanted to order for my daughter in laws baby shower and everything turned out gorgeous and definitely delicious!
