This is a roadside watering hole in Chetek WI. This area is frequented by campers and lake/river goers and full of part time residents.
Whiskey Way is a really nice bar. Well done in modern / yet woodsy adornments. Clean and updated atmosphere that is far from a typical WI bar. The owners planned this “look” from the ground up for sure.
Feels a little like a distillery inside with the use of wood and metal combinations that feel old yet modern. A little like walking into the JD distillery welcome area!

We had been riding our motorbikes and wanted water before our drinks as we were feeling parched. For some reason they give your bottled water - which is odd. Most places just pour you some water for free.
Our only negative is that the bartender was simply not a friendly outgoing person. We were new. Said hello. Got basic interactions and not much more.
In WI you expect more from folks serving you drinks and it’s the part that matters most in a service business. Ie. Being friendly.
I noted that when locals came in and played dice at the bar - he was much more friendly with them. But with us… not so much.
Everyone can have a bad day. But that lack of friendliness is the only reason they are a 4 and not a 5 star. Everything else there is great.

What a train wreck of an experience. Not only do they not know how to make old fashioneds and manhattans properly (it is a whiskey bar, right?); but they’re also horrendously rude. Never again.

We had an absolute blast at this whiskey bar! The bartender was phenomenal—super friendly and seriously talented. I started with a whiskey, and then he just kept the amazing drinks coming. The salty watermelon whiskey margarita was a standout, and the espresso martini and key lime pie martini were both incredible. He even nailed a classic old fashioned!
I only wish we lived closer—this would definitely be our go-to spot. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re at the lake.

This was such a nice place! Unfortunately, we came here because our SXS was acting up. They were kind enough to let us leave it parked overnight and come back the next day to load it up. We stopped back in for a pizza and a couple of drinks on our way back through. The bartender was fantastic and helpful, and it is just a beautiful place inside and out. The patio was perfect to get out of the sun and enjoy the afternoon. (Even if ours didn't go as planned!)

Was a little taken back when the bartender told me it was too busy to make a mojito with the 15 total people in the bar. I get it sometimes it can be busy as I also work in the industry, but don’t have a cocktail menu that you offer if it’s so complex for “busy”. Not busy enough for a mule which was pretty good.
