5-star across the board. Appetizers were amazing; had the caprese chicken for dinner and it was so delicious and well presented. I would price the entree at around $40, but it was less than twenty bucks. The desserts were incredible as well. Small town atmosphere, uptown quality!!!!!

This is a cute place with great food. The atmosphere is upscale casual and the staff are lovely people. They have catered events for my club and have outdone themselves year after year.

1st visit to Hilltop for wife and me based on friend’s recommendation and good reviews. The positives were: Dining area very clean. Fast and friendly service. Cocktails were up to par. Cheese curds, soup, and salad were perfect. My king cut prime rib was a decent portion for the price. Very tender and tasty. The negatives were: Wife’s queen cut prime rib was cut half as thick as my king for only $3 less. Not the best value. I was looking forward to getting our prime rib on the metal hot plate they use but it was not preheated. The au jus was poured on the plate instead of on the side causing the prime rib to be very salty. We will ask for it on the side for future orders. The fries were pre-salted also so don’t salt before you try them. Again the prime rib was tender and tasty, just too salty of au jus. We make prime rib at home quite often with a thick coating of salt while baking, but strain the au jus and serve it on the side. Owners/chef might consider the same or at least offer the side option. 1 star deduction on the food for low value queen cut and 1 more for the over use of salt. However, we will try Hilltop Retreat again!

FACTS-FIRST
It definitely was the local place to be on Fridays. My husband and I had an amazing meal! He had the fish fry, and I had the Chicken Alfredo. They are not shy about their portions by far. The young lady who was our server was fabulous. She checked on us consistently even though it was busy and updated us on when our food was going to arrive. Plus, she's so sweet and friendly. It was a real pleasure having her as our server 10/10 guest experience!
