“When my husband and I come to the cabin it’s always a treat to come get coffee at Roots. The service is always friendly and helpful. Coffee is amazing. Love my latte every time. We enjoy the cozy atmosphere and small town feel!”
“The best coffee/food spot I've ever been to. So many different options and every single item I've had was a 10/10. The staff is so kind and patient. I went in there with a few friends and we took awhile to figure out what we wanted and ordered a lot and unlike some places they gave us no attitude and were just happy to help. I also love their coffee bean section and that they'll grind it for you. Also, I really appreciate that they're open until 4 since I'm a very lazy girl and love getting up lateDietary restrictions: They offer gluten free options and dairy free optionsParking: Tons of functional nearby parking”
“It definitely was the local place to be on Fridays. My husband and I had an amazing meal! He had the fish fry, and I had the Chicken Alfredo. They are not shy about their portions by far. The young lady who was our server was fabulous. She checked on us consistently even though it was busy and updated us on when our food was going to arrive. Plus, she's so sweet and friendly. It was a real pleasure having her as our server 10/10 guest experience!”
“In a busy day it gets crowded in the small store but overall they tend to get people through the line relatively quickly they have suberb high quality meats it is expensive really good place for a taste feed for your inner tiger visit them on a day when there not busy”
“Was a vendor at recent Craft Fair and had the appetizers. The mini tacos, pretzel bites, garlic cheese curds, and regular cheese curds were delicious. The server was courteous and fast. Great host for the Craft Fair.”
“Amazing service and welcoming atmosphere. I was passing through town and stopped here for a drink and bite too eat. Harmony was the bartender working and she was great with service and had an amazing personality. I will definitely be stopping here each time I pass through town!”
“I've had a beverage (or three) at Dale's Twin Pines many times over the decades. Nothing fancy but you get an honest pour and friendly folk. Welcome to Wisconsin!”
“Three of us enjoyed dinner last evening. Two loved their steaks & one delicious scallops. Wonderful greens in our salads w/ blue cheese dressing which were delicious as well. We can't enough positive remarks about the 5 O'Clock Club. Wait staff were top notch!!! Highly recommend!! Only one thing we'd suggest a change for, tables are too close together. Getting in & out was very difficult & disturbing to other diners. Keep up the great work, we appreciated it!!”
“Drove past the sign for decades and never checked this place out until today.Homemade pasta, sauce, and sausage in the middle of a farm field, are you kidding me?Been around for 67 years and 4 generations. There is a reason why!We will be back soon.”
“Been going here since I was a kid, always had decent service from the high schoolers that usually seem to work there. Only down fall is that the entry way is small and leaves little room for customer waiting lines, can get cramped in a hurry.”
“Food was superb. I convinced my family to try it and it was a hit. We ordered pad Thai, fried rice and drunken noodles. Pad Thai was a little spicy, perfect for us and the noodles were delicious. Parking can be tricky. You can order ahead of time and just pick it up.”
“A nice friendly bar with a private room available for parties. I had a interesting conversation with Brian, I guess when you're the owner you get to work rather than hunt deer.”
“Our group of six were from Southern WI and Northern MN. We had full orders of Salads, Brat Burgers (with spicy mustard from Chetek, WI), corned beef & cabbage (almost St Patrick's Day). Everyone was completly satisfied with these taste meals and have left overs for later:) We would highly recommend Louie's on the Lake as a destination stop!!!!”
“I loved this place, they were super attentive and courteous. They work fast when it comes to mobile order. Always had a smile in their faces and were very polite.”
“We had the nicest server, the renovated place looks great, and we really enjoyed the food! Highly recommend the cheese and raisin Ravioli - don't knock it until you try it! Probably the nicest restaurant in Cumberland, and a great find in the middle of northern Wisconsin!”
“Stopped here on our way back from our camper on Thanksgiving and it was a blast. Free Thanksgiving dinner (not saying it happens all the time) the bartender was super nice. Drinks were cheap and bar was clean.”
“Clean store. Very friendly staff. I stopped her for my lunch break and the gals behind the counter were very cheery and got my order quickly.Vegetarian options: Not a veggitarian. But I tried the Impossible Whopper and it's now my favorite sandwich. Probably because I love mushrooms but hey.Wheelchair accessibility: Good wheelchair access with double doors.?”
“me and my son stopped last night after hunting. The atmosphere was amazing with outstanding service. the food was unbelievable and reasonable. Everyone was very friendly chatted about farming as the owners are farmers. we will be stopping during rifle season.”
“Absolutely great coffee and the service was fast. Very friendly staff. For custom coffee drinks the price is great. Really awesome handmade goat milk soaps, candles, and lotions! Would definitely recommend!”
“Our experience was exactly as anticipated! Staff was attentive and friendly, fish fry was very good and came with potato, roll and coleslaw, plentiful portions. The dining areas were full! They really did a nice job all around. It's a Win!”
“This place is your ideal small town tight nit dinner like what you would expect to see from what you see in the movies. Friendly staff with local food that brings back childhood memories.”
“Perfect little spot for an awesome breakfast. Don’t miss out on their homemade baked goods, they’re worth a to go box if you’re too full from the main meal!”
“My husband & I stopped here on a wim, usually they are not open when we are out & about. We ended up spending 4 hours here having great conversations with MA & Heather.Such a great atmosphere & welcoming environment. We had some of Ma's cookie I'd give them a 10/10! And then we decided to stay & have dinner . My husband had the special creamed chicken over busicuts which was fantastic & I had a pizza! Both were phenomenal! We felt like we were at a friend's house just hanging out! Definitely worth a trip up in the boonies!”
“Stopped in on a Wednesday evening and although the bartender did not look up to acknowledge us when we walked in she did take our order pretty quickly. Burgers arrived and were amazing! Toasted buns - yum! Unfortunately the bartender never checked in with us regarding our food or when our beers were empty (we were the only ones eating - bar was not busy). Still giving 4 stars though as we really liked the food and the atmosphere. Also, one of the few places open on a Wednesday night.”
“We have been going here over the last year and every time has been rememberable. Each time has been a different bartender, and each has been just as great. We recently won an amazing bloody Mary basket and I've added a photo. Thank you!”
“Excellent food, homemade bbq sauce was amazing! When we asked for recommendations and the bartender suggested the special and the "bourbon sauced anything, I was all in! Rob had pulled pork lunch special sandwich and I had to Bourbon Cheese Steak sandwich. Both were to die for! And that sauce... take your pick bbq or bourbon. I could drink them! We will return and the service was exceptional as well.”
“We and some friends just popped into Roxie's by chance as we were ATVing on the Cattail Trail from Amery to Almena. This was intended as a restroom stop but wound up staying for hours! Roxie and Kevin are super hosts! Friendly, funny, and very welcoming!Even talked Kevin into firing up the piano bar for our group of 5 at 11:30 in the morning!Never had any food cause the drinks and socializing were just too good!Learned all about the festivities they sponsor. Will be back for certain to join in the fun!Hat's off to Roxie's!! You are a hidden gem in "uptown Almena"!”
“Okay lets talk about a local, woman owned, local business! Buck Horn truly embodies this and I can't believe how lucky we were to stumble onto this place! We borrowed a cabin from family for the weekend and just google searched a place for dinner. We were lucky enough to end up here, where the owner sat down to talk with us as we ordered, tell us her favorites and what the specials were. Our food was great, the root beer ice cold, and the atmosphere was perfect. The music was great and we didn't really want to leave. But the staff made it wonderful and we cannot wait to go back and try more food. We missed the chili cookoff, but hopefully next year!”
“Wonderful, delicious Food served by very friendly staff. The owners meet and greet the customers. The cook/owner always says hi out of the restaurant. A definite plus to our community. Also the menu has Mexican options.”
