After a beautiful fall day with my family, filled with hayrides, corn maze, pumpkin patch, and caramel apples, we stopped at a local bar and grill known for its Wisconsin charm. We filled two tables in the main dining area and just needed a third to accommodate our group. There wasn’t one available in that space, so we simply asked if we could borrow a table from the adjacent banquet hall. That room was wide open, with dozens of empty tables, no signage, no setup, and nothing to suggest it was reserved or in use at any point that day.
The staff refused. No explanation. Just no. We asked again. Same answer. Interestingly, another group nearby ended up with an extra table. I don’t know where it came from, but it raised questions about how decisions were being made.
Here is what made it hard to ignore. I have lived in Wisconsin long enough to know what normal looks like in places like this. My family does not quite match that mold. The refusal did not come with a reason. It came with a shift in tone. A kind of quiet gatekeeping that did not feel like policy. It felt selective.
I am not here to accuse. I am here to ask why our request was denied when others appeared to be granted the same. Why was no reason given. And why did it feel like our presence changed the rules.
Hospitality means making people feel welcome. That did not happen here.

I don’t live around here. We just stopped in for lunch while passing through so take that for what it is.
But the burger I had was the blandest, flavor-lacking food I may have ever had. It’s like they seasoned it with water.
If you like flavor don’t order their burger.

Breakfast was fantastic. Served quickly exactly as I ordered at such reasonable prices. Service was right on point with checking on you but also letting you enjoy your meal. Every seemed to be working like a well Oiled machine .
Great!
Wonderful fish fry!
The staff went way out of their way to find an item I was looking for. I mean it. Check it out. Sincerely

My wife and I got horrible food poisoning after eating burgers here. The bartender was also very rude. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

First time stopping in the place and will not be back.
Young female bartender was not friendly. Had to ask for drinks.
She did not converse with the 6 other customers.
Ordered food and it was not good, dry and ran out of bread at 12:30 in the afternoon.
Did not receive napkins or condiments.
She gave us the bill without asking if we wanted anything else.
Very poor service.
