We went to 1878 For our anniversary. We received complimentary champagne and a desert to split! Our dinners were outstanding also. Highly recommend! Our waitress was lovely also.
Jasmine was a wonderful server. She was prompt and offered advice based on preferences. She checked in with us the perfect amount of times which is greatly appreciated. Would come here again. Grateful for this experience.
They ran out of food. There were four ppl in my group and 3 out of 4 ppl had to make a different choice. The server was kind and apologetic. Then the food came out a very different times and we couldnt eat at the same time. They comped part of the meal but it was still a disappointing experience, as I expected it to be do much better.
The apps were amazing, but our dinners came out cold. The pork belly lollipops, tuna crostini's, and the drinks were fabulous. It was New Year's Day, and we appreciated them being open. With that said, we were one of maybe 5 tables and our dinners came out a while after our appetizers which caused them to be cold. Seemed as if they were sitting for a while. The kids buttered noodles and macaroni and cheese got messed up as well. The macaroni and cheese were a very strange consistency, being very cheesy and goopy. Overall, not worth paying $600.
Awesome experience. We booked the igloo. Food was great. Sharon was very good and friendly. We started at the bar and Nathan took great care of us. All in all totally worth it and a terrific way to start the New Year with family.
We had reservations at 3:30 and there was no one dining at the time and we were told to pick any table we'd like to sit at. The tables along the windows for the view are beautiful. We made it clear to our server that we had to be upstairs at the event by 4:50pm and she assured we'd be fine. She also assured my daughter's food would be gluten free as I placed it in our dinner reservations that there was a food allergy and we shared it with our server. She had no concerns about it and promised to make sure her food was gluten free. We were served our drinks at about 4:00pm, our dinner arrived on the table at 4:40pm. We asked for to go boxes as we didn't have time to finish eating. I asked a few times if our food would be out soon and I was told it was because I asked for my steak to be well done and that takes longer. Upon leaving, the tables were full of other people already eating their food who arrived much after we did. Why did it take so long for us to receive our food and get service - unknown. My daughter is completely broken out in rash being gluten. Praying she doesn't now get super ill as the food moves through her system. The price paid for the meal was VERY high for what we received and it was nothing special and not certainly my daughter's was not GF. The server was very friendly but not timely at all. We've dined there before for lunch and had a much better experience but this time - not good at all. Probably won't be back.
We did the igloo dining. It was very intimate and a beautiful night. They have heaters that do the job to keep it warm if needed. Our server Kristine K was such a pleasure. Totally took care of us From explaining the menu drinks and desserts. Can't say enough about the service there. We had the prime rib and petite filet both were very good. Clam chowder was good too. If you want to great dining experience try the igloo dining.
We had no idea how our igloo experience would be. It turned out to be great. We entered the igloo and it was warm, spotless and very inviting. Our waitress Brenda, was fantastic too. Food and wine were very good. It was also very quiet in there. We would definitely do dine there again. Joe & Theresa
Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. He took care to make sure we had everything we needed. My guest and I each had the Eggs Benedict and we shared the fresh berries with yogurt. Both items were delicious and served quickly. The coffee and tea selections were great too.
Restaurant is a little hard to get to because you have to walk thru something of a maze of corridors to get to it. But once there we were seated immediately. They were busy and seemed a bit short staffed so the servers were hustling. Food and service were excellent. We will go there again.

First impression is everything. Not sure why when they took us to our seat there was bread crumbs and hair all over the chairs. The host tried to wipe it off quickly but I still caught it.
It was memorable. Literally 25 minutes after arriving, our waitress came to take our drink order. We barely saw her. We would have rated this restaurant higher if they provided heat...the room was quite chilly and our dessert was not cooked. We were shocked nothing was comped. The only good thing: the smoked bourbon cherry cocktails were sublime.
We enjoyed the vibe of this space although close proximity to the bar made it a bit noisy. Service was just OK and we felt rushed to finish our meal. The food was well seasoned but lukewarm .
Celebrated our anniversary- they were kind attentive and food was and delicious. Had the beer cheese soup and it was unbelievably great with the cheesy popcorn to add to it. Filet was great and so was the tomahawk port chop. I cannot wait to come back.
My mother and I loved our dinner at 1878 on the Lake. Our table had a lovely view of the lake. The service was great. We both had the walleye piccata which was excellent! I would definitely go back again.
