This location is closed and looks like it has been for quite some time. But Culver's has root beer floats.

Passing through Dodgeville during lunch time and stopped to eat. Very friendly people working there. The food was fine. Nothing special. The root beer was served in frosty mugs. The eating area was dirty. We kept having to swat at pesky flies. Local people should just eat in their cars.

I love a&w frosty glass for root beer! The food is okay, but the root beer is great. I had a chili dog and chili fries…again just okay. Service was slow but friendly.

The strawberry watermelon shake turned out better than expected! Quite tasty and I suggest it. My spicy papa burger was good. There seem to be a lot of confusion with orders in the back, double and triple checking things, employees asking each other questions, just didn't seem like they had their stuff together.

Kid-friendliness: Coloring sheets and coloring contest.

When we’re in the mood for it there really isn’t anything better for us than an A&W root beer float (for me) and a strawberry sundae (for my wife). We’ve been to the A&W in Dodgeville twice now in the past two weeks. The service both times was quick and very polite. And best of all, the root beer floats and the sundaes were PERFECT - much better than McDonald’s down the road and Dairy Queen in Platteville. We love the Dodgeville A&W !!!

The place is so outdated. Hopefully the owner will paint and clean the place up a bit. You'd definitely get more customers. The root beer was not very cold. It was fresh. The food was great except for the bun. It was starting to get hard on the top bun. Onion rings and fries were crispy! Great taste. There were a lot of customers coming to the drive in! I didn't realize the bathroom was outside until we left.

Parking: Empty lot but needs some paint and cleaning.

Kid-friendliness: The gals were very friendly to the youngsters. Very polite.

Classic A&W drive up just like when I was a kid. The root beer freezes are amazing! Jems like this are getting harder to find. We always stop here when traveling by because we don't have these at home anymore.

Parking: It's a drive in restaurant. You park and order from your car and they bring it out to you.

Didn’t actually dine here. The menu was outrageously and exorbitantly priced. We laughed at the prices, walked out and decided to go to Culver’s down the road and pay tons less. This used to be a good place to go, but I don’t know what happened to the prices. Boggles the mind. Needless to say, it was a weekend early afternoon and the place was desolate. I wonder why . . . We won’t be going back. Which is too bad. I grew up in the area and it was always a treat when mom and dad would take us there to eat, or even just for their gallons of root beer. Like childhood, things don’t always last.
