Didn’t actually dine here. The menu was outrageously and exorbitantly priced. We laughed at the prices, walked out and decided to go to Culver’s down the road and pay tons less. This used to be a good place to go, but I don’t know what happened to the prices. Boggles the mind. Needless to say, it was a weekend early afternoon and the place was desolate. I wonder why . . . We won’t be going back. Which is too bad. I grew up in the area and it was always a treat when mom and dad would take us there to eat, or even just for their gallons of root beer. Like childhood, things don’t always last.

I don't go to A&w often. There's not many of them in Iowa left, but I was really happy to go here on my way through Wisconsin but highly recommend it had a big frosted glass mugs. The root beer was just amazing. The food was good too but just being able to go to a place like this again. Really was cool. They have the old school drive-ins but they also have a place inside where you can sit and eat if you want to get out of your car.

Sat here and waited…we were told 10 minutes before someone would be with us and they never even helped us, yet helped people that pulled up later.

We were told the black raspberry was the cone of the day over the speaker. We ordered 2 large ones. The car hop came out took our money and said the ice cream is a little runny, you might want a bowl with it. She went back in and came out with the cones upside down, smashed in a dish with a spoon. What a mess. $6.10 for 2 cones that were smooshed upside down in a bowl. I pulled the cone off and it had very little ice cream attached . We were ticked. Had she said that it was runny and best suited for a dish we would have gone with the plain vanilla and chocolate. Not a good experience
We were passing through Dodgeville and decided to stop for an early supper.Our truck was too tall to fit under the awning so we parked and went inside. ? it was filthy.The servers (2) behind the counter were busy (prepping orders for outside customers, it seemed) but neither acknowledged our presence. (The inside is very small- they saw us.) When a kind man finally did acknowledge us, I attempted to order and was told by one of the servers that “he can’t take orders” and then she went back to ignoring us.Another woman finally came to the counter and took our order.We waited about 10-15 minutes for our food. The food was good, not great. The root beer floats disappointing.The dining room was in desperate need of a thorough cleaning- floors needed swept, tables and chairs needed wiping down and straightening.If you love A &W, I don’t recommend this location. Keep going.
Two nice people waited on me, the food came very quickly, and the burger was great. The meat was hot and the lettuce/tomato were cold and fresh. I was very impressed.
