Me and my husband went there on December 7 and it was the worst experience ever. The bar tender was trying to do 2 jobs bye her self. Way over priced took forever to get are food. We Oder some other food to go for someone else one of the burgers didn’t even have a top on the burger, the other burger didn’t have any of the stuff on it that I asked for,

A great place to get a 1/2 pound burger. One of the oldest bars in the area (late 1800s) this place also has great food. This used to be a regular tavern for loggers, and then manufacturers including the late Uniroyal factory. Locally sourced beef is used for their burgers. I had the peanut butter with bacon, and garlic cheese curds-both wonderful. Delicious. Also, some great German beer on tap you don’t see a lot or places. Highly recommend this classic tavern!

As a historical site: as a fan of historic locations and old architecture, I was underwhelmed by the Amber inn. It may be the oldest bar in Eau Claire, but it looks like any other hole in the wall bar.
As a Bar and Grill: I very much enjoyed my lunch. The food was good. The service was good. The price is what I expected. They had a decent looking selection of tap beers with several unique wheat beer options.
I will certainly be dining there again the next time I'm in Eau Claire.
We called ahead for food because we were in a hurry. I was told they could not prepare food until we got there. I said ok so you can't prepare a To go order until we got there? He said ok what do you want? We arrive 15 minutes later and they didn't have the food on the grill and they were not busy. The female bartender said ok bye now. Will not bring our money to Amber Inn again.

I love Amber in. I’ve come for about 10 years now here and there. I saw some review with three and 4 stars but the review said they’re great. Kind of odd. Anyways the food and bartenders were great. The way you order and pay isn’t ideal but other than that, it’s perfect. Go packers

I love Amber Inn, it's probably my favorite bar and grill in town. I'm a big fan of the chicken fajita wrap. Burgers and chicken wings are great also. Reasonable prices, the only negative is that it gets very very warm in there during the summer sometimes. Bartenders are always very friendly.
