Maple 53 Bar & Grill 🍁

I visited during a guys weekend in the area. We were looking for a place to get breakfast and a Bloody Mary. This was the only place we could find, we did call around to quite a few places.

The food was decent, prices were fine, atmosphere was mostly bar, but the service was great. Eight fairly rowdy guys and roll in and they didn’t even blink an eye. Our interactions with anyone that we saw working was great, they helped keep the fun weekend going rather than make us chill out to fit a stuffy environment!

We made plans to have breakfast again here next year!

My husband and I went to Maple 53 Saturday morning for breakfast. There were several tables available and the waitress asked us to seat ourselves she would be with us shortly. As we sat waiting for menus we noticed the waitress literally running between the restaurant and the bar. It took some time to get menus, drinks, and to finally order. Our waitress apologized as she was the only waitress and they had one cook. The "manager" was sitting at the counter when we first arrived but then moved into the bar. We watched as our waitress tried to keep up with the constant stream of people coming in. I watched her make new pots of coffee only to have the manager come take them and bring empty pots back from the bar without starting fresh pots. Our waitress bussed tables, ran food to the bar and restaurant, ran the register, did what side work she could manage just to keep up with the needs of the establishment.  As we waited for our food, which was an EXTREMELY long wait, I entered the bar on my way to the restroom. By this time there were only two customers at the bar with full drinks, dirty tables, and the manager sitting behind the bar drinking coffee. She made no attempt to address me, nor did she interact with the customers at the bar. Additionally she was of NO assistance to the cook or waitress. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. I realized that one of the issues with getting our food a little more timely was that the cook had to wash dishes just so she could plate food to be served. I don't know of any establishment that would have co workers sitting on their duff while others busted theirs, let alone a manager. The only reason I'm giving two stars is for the waitress and the cook. The food was average, I would eat there again but not if I see that manager is around.

Arrived about 9:30 am. Was told we could sit anywhere. The restaurant wasn’t even half full, but after 15 minutes and not been provided menus nor asked if we wanted something to drink we left. The server didn’t seem to care that we were leaving. I will not go back.

The food wasn't as represented, although it wasn't bad. It seems like the new owners are trying to copy other restaurants, but not bringing the quality. Prices are reflective of high quality/organic/local products, but it's evident that the items are store bought. The bartender ignored our group as if they had better things to do. The atmosphere is dreary and dank, would be nicer if it was cleaned up and remodeled slightly, especially with the price jumps after change in ownership.

Parking: It's an offering at a motel, most parking is for people staying in the rooms.

Kid-friendliness: Not exactly somewhere that kids should be. That said, it is a bar in Wisconsin so they will probably be there.

Maple recently changed ownership & now called Maple53. A single blueberry pancake is no longer on new menu, but can be ordered. However it cost the same as a pancake meal. Today price had been changed for a single pancake so it was ordered. However it was the worst pancake I've ever eaten. My complaint was left with waitress who repeated it to the cook & then there was laughter. We will no longer be eating at this restaurant.

Great place, good food, friendly service. Kitchen is open until midnight which is a huge plus for those late night cheese curd cravings. Lots of space so it doesn't feel super crowded.
