We had a wonderful experience today! We brought our two little girls with and the servers were amazing today on 9/30/25. I also tried the maple blueberry cold foam which was amazing and the gluten free pancakes were great! The atmosphere was great and kid friendly for sure. My husband is dairy free and I’m gluten free so it can be hard to find everything all in one. Such a cute stop on our trip through Eau Claire.

They are busy but there is ample seating available. We had a relatively large group but found a place to sit right away. There is seating available outside as well for when the weather is kind. The food is good but we return to this place for the friendly and prompt service. Staff are amazing and helpful and always have a smile on their face. It is not too loud but enough background chatter to give it a very cozy feeling when you are dining in.

My wife and I went for a first time great food myself got brisket and eggs. The brisket was awesome. My wife got the huevo rancheros she loved them as for our drinks I got a coffee and my wife got a banana strawberry shake. She loved it. I will gladly come back to this place.

I’ve been in Eau Claire working for several months now and The French Press has already become a part of my routine. The coffee is great, the food is delicious, and the service is top notch! I will definitely miss this place when I have to leave.

We are from Minneapolis but stop at this place every time we’re passing through EC. It’s always a welcome treat.
They gave a sizable coffee menu and some new, unique drinks every time we come in. The pastries and treats selection is also filled with cheesecake flavors I’ve never seen anywhere else.
The pastries are sizable - big enough that my kids can’t finish one in one sitting. And always taste good.
I’ve only gotten breakfast one time, which was the eggs benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes. The portions were enough. The hollandaise sauce wasn’t my favorite, BUT it did taste homemade. And I appreciated that so I’ll give it full marks. It wasn’t bad by any means, just not my personal preferred taste of hollandaise sauce.
Now, to address some recent negative reviews, I have some suspicions. This place has a fairly young crowd, with many diners from “alternative” demographics. I suspect many of the low ratings come from a certain demographic that hates the support of non-traditional demos and are giving the place a 1/5 to try to kill business. A quick scan of many of the low ratings will show some rather questionable reviews of the lower ratings.
When we stopped in 2 years ago, they had a 4.8 or 4.9 I believe. Now it’s dropped considerably yet we haven’t noticed any actual decline in food or drinks.
I say that to suggest giving the place a try for yourself. Don’t let the rating, and people with an agenda, fool you.
Love buying local, and this restaurant is definitely worth it!
