This was our first visit to Door County and was looking for a special restaurant for dinner. We took a chance and drove outside of town, and glad we did.They were not busy at all on a Friday night, which made me a bit worried but understandable with the road construction. The restaurant building is huge and has amazing wood carvings throughout the bar and dining areas. Dinners came with a salad bar and soup, which had a good variety and was very fresh. Restaurant staff was very helpful in explaining the menu and the nightly specials. Cocktails were good, and botg our dinners were excellent.

Husband and I were recommended Log Den as we were planning a little anniversary trip. This place does not disappoint! Huge portions and absolutely divine! The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Seriously, ignore the "road closed" signs from the construction and make it out here; it's so worth! I've been dreaming of my prime sandwich and lemon meringue martini since finishing them!

We went there for a murder mystery dinner experience. Very nice. The Log Den is just what you would expect in upper Wisconsin. This building is beautiful with interesting carvings on the outer log walls and doors. The inside of the restaurant is just as impressive with a touch of whismy.The service was nice but a little confused. Nobody really seemed to be sure how to handle this unusual event between billing, seating, and overall planning. In the end, they figured it out, and all went well.The food was mainly a buffet with different types of salads, a number of various entrees, and side dishes.Nothing special, but all were delicious.Overall, the night was a good time and would do it again. ??

The service and food are a bit underwhelming but certainly tolerable. Such a grand building though. Very cool place to sit abd have drinks with friends.
Absolutely thrilled with our experience at this fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is unparalleled, and the architecture is simply amazing. Our visit, courtesy of a trolley tour, was a delightful surprise as we practically had the place to ourselves. The family-friendly vibe made it feel like a warm Thanksgiving gathering at Mom's. The bearded gentleman overseeing our experience went above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy, reminiscent of my uncle's genuine hospitality. The fish sandwich was a taste sensation—utterly delightful! Without a doubt, I highly recommend checking out this gem of a place.

Beautiful building. The hostess/waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. The soups, seafood and squash were excellent and our meals were served quickly. This is our third time at the Log Den, and the food has never disappointed us. We brought our family up with us this time including our son-in-law who owns a restaurant group in Milwaukee. He said without a doubt this was the best prime rib he has ever had, having sampled that dish all over the U.S. The seafood chowder is a staple by the way, and a must-try.

We really enjoyed this place. We came with a party of 8 including a couple of children and a baby. This can be a difficult group to accommodate as you can imagine. However, they were extremely inviting and courteous and the food was incredible. I’m pretty picky when it comes to steak/beef and the prime rib was the best I have had. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an inviting place with truly exceptional food.

We went at an off-hour, only one other table. We were pleasantly surprised by excellent service, great food and friendly staff. Only problem is wipe the tables a bit better, it had crumbs on it from the previous occupants.

Awful experience. Walked in when it wasn’t busy for dinner and got seated quickly. There were three tables in this section; we then heard our waiter go to the back and yell at the host for seating us. They then proceeded to walk by us multiple times, going to other tables. At one point they told us the specials and then walked away stating they didn’t know who our server was. After 20 minutes of sitting with no service, we finally got water from a different server. My family watched the waiter walk to other tables and taking care of them while ignoring us, at one point they took a single empty plate from another table to the back. About 30 minutes in with no one even taking our drink order, we were willing to wait, until our server walked by us one more time and sighed LOUDLY. That was the final straw and we walked out. The host and other servers watched us walk out as well. It’s a shame, I’ve never had bad service in DC and this is some of the worst service I’ve ever had.

Our server mentioned over 5 times how we shouldn't have been sat (although the place was not full at all) and ignored us. 25 minutes and we didn't even have a drink order taken. After the 5th time (at least) of her mentioning she shouldn't have our table and walking by us and ignoring us, we left. I've never felt more unwanted at a restaurant just for sitting down.
