We actually went to the secret pizza restaurant at night. Unbelievably delicious Detroit style pizza.

Please Do NOT give this man your business. Our visiting friend had such a terrible experience here last time she came up that she refused to even walk into this shop on this most recent trip. Our other friend did go in and also experienced rude service and a bad, short pour, over priced, latte (in her opinion.) The line is always long due to the inefficiency and inattentiveness of the poorly trained staff. An older gentleman was rudely turned away because he had what was very clearly a well trained service dog. He left shaking his head, although this was illegal for the shop to do. I would have called the police for him, but instead, like our party, he stopped into Chef’s Hat, where they happily (and following the law) served him inside with his service animal.
We sat outside at Chef’s Hat for lunch (just steps away) and had delicious lattes along with their always friendly service, and short wait . They immediately served us and brought our dog ice water without being asked. What a welcome difference!
Please view all of the 1 star reviews Coffee Lab has received and READ THE OWNER’S petty, snide, ridiculous, responses to any criticism, no matter how constructive or benign. One woman was called “Insufferable” simply for writing that she was surprised that they were closed at 12:30 pm on a Sunday.
What a delicate flower this poor man is!!!!
Why on earth would he want to run a business when he clearly hates the customers? My husband, a psychiatrist, says he must have unresolved rage issues. I believe it. This guy is so hostile that I’d honestly be afraid of violence were he to meet these reviewers (including myself) in person. He should be shut down. Or retire to an isolated place where he never has to listen to anyone’s opinion but his own, which is clearly the only one he’s interested in hearing.
A serious creep who writes like a spoiled child when he doesn’t get his way.
We will be sure to warn our visitors, neighbors, and anyone we pass along the way, to steer clear.
Run Away, Fast! Get a much better latte at The Chef’s House just a few feet away. You’ll get a big smile and wonderful service; the opposite of what you’ll get at Coffee Lab.
Owner: Please leave our beautiful, friendly, Door County. You don’t belong here.

Best decaf espresso ever... I had an iced cappuccino with oat milk and wow! So complex and interesting, might even be better than their regular. Also had a jalepeno scone and it was delicious. Smelled so good in there!

AWFUL, rude customer service. I was told by a couple coming out that the lattes were terrible, but I was ordering something else so I went in, but mine was also subpar. I cannot describe how rude the barista was! We were 30 year locals but now just summer residents, and have never been to this particular shop, and I will never go again. Now, reading other reviews, I see that the owner is such a delicate flower that even just writing that they weren’t open at 12:30pm on a Sunday elicited a bitter, angry response. My spouse is a psychiatrist and says these responses to negative reviews are so over the top that the owner must have untreated rage issues. Do not go here unless you’re a glutton for punishment and want your day to start off with a sneer by some rude person obviously trained poorly by a bizarre, rage-filled owner who needs to spend more time bettering his service (figuring out how to cut wait time with better productivity) and less time abusing reviewers who didn’t have a good experience. Grow Up, pal, & learn from constructive criticism instead of doubling down on your failings. There are other great coffee shops nearby. Chef’s Hat, just steps away, makes an excellent latte and they actually know how to run a business… little wait time, wonderful service. Chef’s Hat even brought out ice water for my dog as I waited (very briefly) for my delicious latte. What a difference!
