We had a late dinner here a few weeks ago and I am still thinking about the pork belly fettuccine gochujang dish. It was spicy and sweet and the pork belly was so, so good. The food is exciting and thoughtful. Romantic but unpretentious and caring service. The pricing was so reasonable for the quality and the intention put into the food. The check-in process and wait wasn't an issue at all - we were able to check in to our inn in-between and have a drink beforehand! If you are lucky enough to be on a beautiful vacation and waiting for a good meal with a drink or a view - life can't be that bad.

This is such a wonderful place to eat out at for any occasion. The food is fantastic and creative, the staff are welcoming, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We were sad when we heard Wickman House and Trixie's had closed, but The Fashionable having taken their places has the same quality and charm that we came to expect. The buckwheat tempura vegetables, beet salad, and crispy pork belly were all so good. It's a menu you wish you could try more of at one time, but have to come back again instead. Look forward to returning for some of the best food in Door County.

We made the mistake of coming here the first night of our post-wedding vacation because nothing else will top this. The staff, the atmosphere, and especially the food were wildly beyond our expectations. This was by far one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life. I got the braised short ribs and she got the cavatelli pasta. The staff was tremendous.

For celebrating our wedding, they took photos for us, gave us some delicious champagne, and even the most delicious lemon olive oil desert with meal. My wife got the cavatelli pasta and I got the braised short ribs. Both were truly amazing, but the cavatelli was on another level.

I grew up eating amazing food and feel I have knack for knowing what is truly good or not, and I can never promise that this meal will not disappoint. I definitely recommend smaller parties as this is more of an intimate dinning experience, but one I highly recommend.

I have truly never been happier in my life eating food until tonight. I will remember this meal forever and I would make the trip up here just for this meal in particular.

Thank you for everything and I cannot wait to come back again!

The food, unfortunately, falls short of expectations. This review focuses on the White Fish Fettuccine and Roast Pork Belly, which were the dishes we tried. While I have to commend the attentive and friendly service, the flavor in the local brown rice beneath the white fish was so overpowering that it made the dish less appealing to say the least after just a few bites.

As for the Crispy Pork Belly, I wish the pairing of gochujang sauce with local grain fettuccine worked better. The pork belly itself was tender and flavorful, but the salty fettuccine, which dominated the dish, left it feeling off-balance. The combination gave us the impression of a fusion dish trying to fit in but missing the mark, like something you’d expect from an Americanized Asian restaurant chain.

Overall, these two dishes didn’t quite justify the wait. While the restaurant has a stylish vibe and could be fun for a social outing, there are likely better places around where both your appetite and your time would be better rewarded.

I feel that it is uncommon for a restaurant to deliver on a very thoughtful menu while also matching it with a thoughtful ambiance. The Fashionable delivers. While we deeply miss the Wickman house, the Fashionable will likely become our new favorite in DC. Their purpose to make doing the right thing and honoring food that is sustainable “fashionable” is something that I hope everyone chooses to support.

My fiance and I went to The Fashionable to celebrate getting engaged earlier that day. We arrived 30 minutes early to ensure we got a table inside. We were promptly seated when the doors opened and had the best experience! Our waitress was great and had great recommendations. She made our celebration very special with an extra beverage and dessert on the house. Everything we ordered tasted amazing! This will be a new go-to spot when we visit Ephraim!

Absolutely fantastic. I recommend getting there a little prior to open if you want to secure a spot! We got the grilled summer vegetables, whitefish fettuccine, and the confit chicken. Everything exceeded our expectations. So much flavor and everyone was so kind. I hope I can come back again next time I’m around!

Absolutely fantastic dishes here! Great atmosphere and thoughtful service...the chicken confit was magnificent, and the wine selection is tasteful. The plates are all balanced, creative, and delicious.

Lovely Door County boutique restaurant. Menu is very chefy, service is incredible and absolutely adorable atmosphere. The process to get a table is annoying, but the staff does a really great job of maintaining crowds. The food itself was good, but doesn’t justify the waitlist process to get a table, I think. We ordered a salad to share and the tempura vegetables. Salad was fresh & thoughtful, but it was just that, a salad, nothing special. The tempura vegetables were our mistake probably, but our waitress said good things, they all tasted the same, the fried coating dominated and thus couldn’t really tell what vegetable it actually was. I ordered fettuccine with whitefish. The fettuccine was fresh, probably homemade, soft, delicate and yummy, but the whitefish was dry and the crust on top of fish was so salty it made it inedible. My partner got the mushroom entree with lentils, it was very good, hearty, but overpriced for what it was and a small portion. I would return, love these chef driven super creative restaurants, nothing boring about it, but not worth the hassle of getting a table, it wasn’t the best meal I ever had, certainly not the worst.
