Went in on a Saturday at 6pm. Restaurant was empty aside from 1 other group.
I had the sautéed shrimp and fettuccine, my partner had the Italian Festival.
The food was awful. Nothing was freshly made. Cheap ingredients. Expired shrimp.
The only thing good about the meal was the bread.
The salad consisted of limp lettuce and two soggy tomatoes, dressing, and nothing else.
The only cheese option was a shaker of cheap parmasan cheese that resembled sawdust
The shrimp had a strong sea/fishy taste/smell and tasted sour/racid. The shrimp was obviously expired/rotten. Utterly awful to eat, along with no seasoning at all.
I had to spit the shrimp into a napkin.
We were given no choice as to what sauce our pasta would come with.
The pasta was undercooked. Very chewy. Raw, flour taste. Couldn't cut through it with the fork.
Both dishes came with a red tomato sauce. The pasta sauce tasted like something from the Dollar Store... Watery, flavorless, and very acidic.
We will never eat there again.
One of the worst meals I've never had.

With limited "fine" dining places in the area, it's nice to have El Captain as an option. This trip was limited to dining at the bar with friends but the drinks were great and the limited food we had was good. Love the fact the pasta is homemade.

And the perfumes and toiletries in the ladies room, that is a nice touch so rarely done anymore.

This place is my family's favorite. Great for special occasions and the homemade pasta dishes are elite!

The 8oz Tenderloin was marked “market price” on the menu. When we got the bill it was $44.00. The same steak (with garlic toast and a side) at T&T is $28.00. Very disappointing.

Best pasta!!!

Our group of 4 stopped in fairly late on a Sunday after golfing. The staff was very accommodating. The food and drinks were excellent. Homemade pasta, gnocchi and sauces are worthy of a return.

This place is a joke. Got seated and then waited for 30 mins and no one acknowledged us. Place was not busy when we showed up! People showed up after us and they got drinks and serviced. Completely disappointed!!!

First time eating here. Food was hot and fresh. I fell in love with the fettuccine alfredo. I also had steak and a baked potato, The tenderloin was the most tender I have ever had and the bake potato was just normal. Look forward to returning in a couple weeks when we are in the UP.

My favorite is the chicken alfredo. Also, be sure to get the peppercorn ranch dressing for your salad.

Never disappoints! Food is always consistent. Staff very friendly and attentive. Love the gnocchi parmesan with spicy sauce.
