So let me start with the truth. I did not want to come here due to a previous experience from when they first opened up. But my boy told me to give them a second shot based on his experience from St Patrick's Day. (they gave free cheese curds and gave kids free arcade tokens to their attached arcade) so I said ok. We went for March Madness. We ordered a few apps and some beers. The bartender Grace cool af. As a person who has worked in the food service industry, I feel that I have insight into good service. Grace truly championed this with her fast refills and friendly personable service. When I was in the industry there was a saying good service Can make up for or outweigh bad food. So now let's move on to the food. We ordered wings, scotch egg, and pub fries. We got the scotch egg because my buddy had never had one. As a person who has prep scotch eggs and cooked them, I feel I know they are supposed to be made. (scotch egg: hard-boiled egg wrapped in pork sausage then breaded and deep fried served with brown mustard.) when it came out and both Jonathan and Grace asked my buddy what he and I thought and I scored the scotch egg a 7.8 out of 10. Jonathan could not accept this as a score of what he knew they were capable of and without being asked re cooked one and brought it out for a second chance. I rated the second 9.3 but with the service factor, I rated it a 10! Jonathan and Grace have made a believer out of me. I will be back and highly recommend.

Worst dining experience in years. We arrived on time for our reservations and waited at the hostess stand for around 5 minutes and no one showed up to check us in. A bartender yelled over that we could sit anywhere. This was St. Patrick's day and there was only 2 other parties at tables. It took 15 more minutes before a waitress came. She asked us what our order was but no one even gave us a menu yet. We ordered drinks. 10 minutes later she brings my husband's beer and told me my "hot toddy" would be a few more minutes. Well, I did not order a "hot toddy" so I reminded her I ordered a whiskey and coke. Finally my drink came and we placed our food order. Bangers and Mash for me and the smash burger for my husband. She did not write down our order. Food finally came and I got a brat sandwich with fries. I told her that is not what I ordered and she took the plate back and told us it would be another 5 minutes. In the mean time she brought us a "free" appetizer of their loaded fries. Well, they were cold and cheese was congealed. Totally inedible. Finally my dinner came out and it was truly awful. The bangers were luke warm and just awful. We did not see her again until she brought the check. My meal was at least taken off. Husband though the burger was ok but not worth the $16 price tag. Yikes - that was rough. Otherwise - it's supposed to be an English Pub sort of vibe. Well, the music was BLASTING loud house music and they were playing BET music videos on the TV. Wow. I expect that this place will be closed within the year. Terrible food, service and vibe. We won't be back.

Having trouble sticking to the old calorie limit on a Friday night? Look no further than Buchanans at Bayshore Mall! Water will be served promptly half an hour after you sit down and your food will actually never arrive and therefore be awkwardly negotiated off your check with three non plussed managers(?) as you rush off to catch the opening sequence of Kung Fu Panda 4. Great way to conserve cash and calories whilst dining with several small humans in a faux Scottish bar in a mall.

As much as I would like to give this place a raving review, I cannot do so, unfortunately. Let me start with the positives. My friend and I came in for his birthday on a Tuesday evening, 02/27/24. Our server lady was outstanding. She was polite, pleasant and easy to interact with. Their kitchen and bar also worked quite fast.Furthermore, the décor of this place is quite authentic and unique. It has a great Irish/Scottish feel to it. Everything also appears to be well-maintained and clean. Now, to some not-so-good aspects. Regrettably, the food was extremely subpar in quality. My curry chicken was very dry and barely edible. Potatoes and rice that I received with it tasted bland and dry too. My friend's Rueben sandwich was quite mediocre too, at best. I have to say that the food was quite trashy overall. In light of these facts, I think I am being generous by giving this place 3 stars. Considering their pricing, they must do better.

We went here on a Friday night, and it was not very busy. We arrived at 6:30pm and were able to get seated immediately. They had a sign that said we should seat ourselves, but a hostess gave us a little playful slack about seating ourselves. I am assuming it was a miscommunication, but it was an odd way to start the night. The drinks were a reasonable price. The food appeared to be expensive, but when we received it, the portion sizes on the entrees were great. We ordered beers, a gin and tonic, and appetizers (Pretzel Sticks and Crab & Goat Cheese Croquettes). The gin and tonic was mixed well, and the appetizers came out shortly after the drinks. Both appetizers were very good, and I would get them again. We ordered the Curry Chicken and the Fish & Chips. Both portions were big enough to take a portion home with us. At the end of the night I noticed a sign for all you can eat fish & chips, but this was never mentioned to us or shown on the menu. All in all, I would come back to try this again. I am hoping to come back soon for a soccer match or to experience the restaurant with the rolling windows open in the summer.Parking: This is located inside the Bayshore mall on the second floor by the move theater/bowling alley. I would recommend parking in the parking structure by the Target.

I LOVE the Buchanan salad made with cherries, mixed greens, apples, candied pecans and orange vinaigrette (had to add ranch for flavor cause that’s what I do). My cheese fries as an app were good also but there’s a lot of them so they’re shareable. Husband really enjoyed his burger and the kiddos enjoyed their fish and chips. Great lunch idea for the fam and we will be back.

Delicious fish fry. It was really one of the best flavored battered fish that I've had. Great service too.

Stopped by on a Thursday night with the family Not very busy though a few tables occupied. Gorgeous place. Right away the menu impressed with a build your own old fashion for $10. Haven't seen that anywhere. My wife got a house wine for $7 and the kids got sodas for $2. Reasonable for those drinks. Had a free app coupon from Bayshore so got the cheese curds. They were good with both ranch and mustard?! dipping sauce. My boys got the bacon mac and cheese for over $20, which as good but not that good, and the fish fry for $17, which was ample in size and delicous. My wife got the pastrimi ruben which was rather good and I got the Buchannan salad which was plentiful and delicous. Overall the place wasn't cheap but had some great drinks and entres. They seem to have a nice happy hour which I will be trying as well. Happy to go back.Went back for the happy hour and tried the Scotch eggs which were amazing. They also had an excellent bartender on duty who was training another and made an amazing bee's knees with the Jameson happy hour special. The smoke salmon dip was really good and plentiful as well. We'll need to grab a movie and then come by for a free appetizer next time for another promotion they have. They're really making an effort to get people over there. Hidden jewel right now...

Went for dinner on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised! We had the soup and the beef brisket sandwich - both super good. Got an old fashion, which is a design your own concept and super cool and only $10. The beer selection is huge and all on tap. The inside is cool and very welcoming for all ages. Our bartender, who was new was also awesome. It's exciting to finally see something reopen in the space! Will be back in the future.

I was very excited about the beer cheese soup...it was way too salty! Nobody at our table could finish it. The chicken sandwich lacked flavor and, most importantly, sauce! Pretzel sticks had no salt and were boring. The chicken Philly was a joke. Barely anything in the sandwich and no flavor! My gin and tonic was fine, but the vodka lemonade was terrible! We were the only table in the place and yet it took forever to get someone to come to our table for drink refills. The place is beautiful, but food, drinks and service are lacking. Will not be back, unfortunately.

Worth the short escalator ride. The atmosphere is fun yet mellow, and kid friendly while not giving up its pub ensemble. Staff is fantastic and food comes out fast and hot. Prices are as expected with pub fare, taps (plenty to choose from) are cold and drinks are strong. We rocked the fish n chips, and beer cheese soup. Can’t wait to be back to explore the menu. GO and RUN to support this spot.

They have some unique menu options that were well prepared and good tasting.A good setup with centrally located bar area surrounded by the dining area. Bar seating, high tops, low tops, and booths are available. Lots of TVs over bar area featuring sports.Outdoor balcony seating during warmer times of the year.Bathrooms are classy with multiple fixtures.Service was a little slow the night we were there - arrived around 5:15 on a Saturday. The food was good and appropriately priced.Parking: BayShore has surface lots, parking structures, and street parking.Kid-friendliness: Has kids’ menu and games available

Excellent food and service! My son didn’t like the onions on the adult burger (our fault) and the owner so graciously agreed to make us a new one and sent the other home as leftovers. So glad to have them in town! We will be back for sure!

Mediocre food and extremely slow service, despite the restaurant being nearly empty on a Friday night. Our waitress was exceptionally nice and very conscientious with clearing dishes and filling waters etc , but very slow in bringing drinks and forgot to put our food order in, so our food was delayed by at least 30 minutes. Our scotch eggs came out with sausage partly raw. Burger and 2-piece fish fry both fair at a $17 price point. (High end price point for those dishes) Side of slaw and mushy peas served in sauce size ramekin. About a tablespoon each. We were Looking forward to trying their ‘Mushy peas’, a novelty menu item. They literally tasted like a .49 cent can of peas…no seasoning at all and not ‘mushy’. Literally just canned peas. $7 for a side serving.Maybe still working out the kinks as a new restaurant. Hoping things improve or I fear they won’t be around long.
