We looked forward to dining at this restaurant as the culmination of our annual Family December Weekend. The restaurant had few patrons; therefore, service should not have been a problem. Our waiter was Chris. It took longer than usual for the drink orders to get to our table of seven. When they finally came, one beer selection was not available, Chris suggested another, which was agreeable. We were almost finished with our drinks, and the substitute beer still did not come. One...
Spouse and I ate here while staying overnight at the Heidel House. View in daylight was lovely over the water but as the sun set, the restaurant remained fully & brightly lit. We would have preferred dimmer lighting. We had filet and walleye with baked and smashed potatoes. The proteins were delicious but potatoes lacking. The baked potato was reheated and tasted old while the smashed version were cold. The seasonal vegetables were sauteed green beans which were fresh but...
Lovely setting. A bit too formal and hotel- like for our comfort. Food was just above average but well presented. Service was great. Table setting was spread out like for a board meeting. Just not the vibe for a warm family gathering.
