The Eleanor: All Hype, No Substance — Shut It Down The Eleanor is a prime example of a restaurant that’s riding on reputation rather than reality. Yes, the food was decent—but hardly worth the exorbitant prices or the endless social media praise. What you get is an overhyped menu served in a pretentious atmosphere with service that’s flat-out disappointing. Despite the kitchen’s efforts, the dining experience was completely undercut by the poor front-of-house operations. Long delays to be greeted, awkward pauses between courses, and inattentive staff made the entire meal feel disorganized and uncomfortable. For a place that charges fine dining prices, the lack of professionalism is inexcusable. This isn’t just a case of a bad night—it’s a systemic issue that suggests the place is more concerned with branding than actual hospitality. If The Eleanor can’t deliver an experience that justifies its prices and hype, maybe it’s time to close the doors and stop wasting diners’ time and money.
Finally stopped in today for dinner with a friend. (After wanting to stop in for a while now.) I was very happy I did. Drinks were great! Dinner was great! Cameron our server was great! Hope to be back soon! Will recommend to others!
My husband and I went to The Eleanor Room on a whim last night without a reservation on the Saturday after Valentines Day. We anticipated the possibility of waiting for a bar opening or being turned away but were pleasantly surprised when the hostess told my husband they had an unexpected opening right away. We were seated immediately and had such a wonderful experience! Every server we encountered was wonderful, the food was EXCELLENT, and the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic date night with my husband. We highly recommend this place and are looking forward to the next time we get to visit!
I went for brunch to celebrate my birthday with a group of about 13-14 friends. I was nervous about going to a new place with such a big group because you never know how the staff is going to react, but the restaurant was super accommodating! The restaurant was beautiful and everyone enjoyed their food. After we finished eating, they told us about their afternoon happy hour, so we stayed around even longer. Our server was great and never made us feel like we needed to rush through our meal. They even decorated the table with Happy Birthday decorations and gave me a signed birthday card with a complimentary birthday treat! I also learned you can rent out the back room for a more private dining experience, so I will definitely be doing that in the future. Thank you again The Eleanor Room!
We received the best service tonight from the staff at The Eleanor Room! We were celebrating my husbands 40th. We were treated with a cozy table in the corner and had a sign saying happy birthday. He even received a card wishing him happy birthday with that the staff had signed. To top off the greasy service, the food was great! The hush puppies were the best ever. To top things off they provided two glasses of champagne and a cupcake. We will definitely be back. PS the mocktails were delicious and the n/a glass of champagne for me was the nicest gesture I have received since starting my sober journey almost a year ago!
NYE- Great atmosphere, delicious food, terrific server (Nanna?). There were a few glitches but Ellie kept an eye on us and stepped in to help and to offer humor when needed. We’ll be back.
Celebrated a birthday and found the table decorated! Brunch was amazing! Holiday cocktail was delicious. Super sweet server--Nanna P. Definitely recommend this place. We will be back.

I really wanted to love this place. Finally had the opportunity to dine in. From the moment we walked in, the service seemed off. Almost 10 minutes to figure out what table to seat our reservation at. To proceed, the server was friendly, but honestly spoke way too much. Another 15 minutes to go through the menu. 20 minutes in and we were just starting to order drinks. No wine menu at a place that starts with an amuse-bouche. Odd! Great that you have 200 tequilas but only 2 tequila drinks on the menu.
Food started to come out, bland! Everything, bland. Risotto, not arborio rice, traditional. Baked fish, bland. No lemon, salt, nothing. Gnocchi, mushy. Fried chicken, bland, mushy. Nothing hit the mark. There was not one thing that we ordered that was great, much less good. Sorry, but the best thing we encountered was what appeared to be the floor manager/server assistant recognizing what customers needed.

Although it did take a little longer than expected to get our food, it was worth it. Very nice, tasty!

Fantastic! One of our favorite spots. The food is terrific and Jason is a gracious host as he makes you feel at home. Do yourself a favor and give this Greendale Gem a try!
Love this place! It never disappoints! Went for brunch today and had the Waffle Benedict and a side of breakfast potatoes. It was so good! If you can make a potato that I don’t dip in ketchup you are a 5 star in my book! So tasty. Got the charcuterie which is always my go to and fantastic. The drink I keep returning back to is the sweet Mary. I can’t get enough of the vibes, friendliness, and food from this place. We be retuning again and again!!

We just had a semi-formal event for 35 people and we reserved their dining room for the seat down dinner. At first we were skeptical about the size of the room but somehow owners Kelly and Jason made work. A little tight but the excellent food and service made up for it. Planning on going back there soon!!!

There were 5 of us for an early dinner, and everybody enjoyed their entrees but me.
I had an absolutely horrible ribeye steak. It was pretty close to the medium rare that I ordered, but it was so tough that I had difficulty cutting it with a steak knife. I couldn't even eat half of it. I gave it to my friend to take home to her dogs. In retrospect, I should have said something to our server, but I didn't want to put a damper on our party. However, my wedge salad was wonderful, and our drinks were all very good, and the service was outstanding.
