Service was very fast! Our server was friendly. The steak taco was my favorite. They also serve a great margarita!

We were the only ones in there. That should have been the first clue. We still gave it a chance the place looked nice. The staff seemed very welcoming. With all that being said the guy didn’t have proper kitchen edict. We saw him answering his phone while handling our food. I also watched him handle our food without gloves touching food with his bare hands. We were over charged as well 170 & they added the tip without us knowing causing us to double tip.
Kids meals were even full price. They used language barriers to justify poor service. We won’t be back unfortunately hope you guys make the necessary adjustments.

The waitress was nice. Atmosphere was nice.I ordered a veggie burrito, asked for lettuce, tomato, guacamole, cheese, rice and beans in the burrito. They brought me onions, bell peppers, wrapped in a tortilla. I explained to two different people it was wrong, they said sorry and still charged me $18.49 even though not one bite was taken. And we sat for 30 minutes for them to even check on us.

I’m going to break this into a separate post for the dishes, because this place deserves its own spotlight.

This was my first visit, and honestly… I was impressed right away. The complimentary tortillas and salsa set the tone immediately. That salsa? Fresh, vibrant, and clearly made with care. I don’t usually go on about sauces, but this one earned it—no question.

Everything we had reflected that same level of attention. The flavors were clean and authentic, the ingredients tasted fresh, and even the presentation showed pride. It’s one of those experiences where you can tell the kitchen actually cares about what they’re putting out.

I want to add this one that's sauce honestly unreal. I couldn’t even begin to tell you how they made it, but it has this smooth, smoky flavor that stands out without being overpowering or competing with anything other flavor, if that makes sense.

Our server added to the experience too. He was funny, attentive, great with the kids, and just genuinely pleasant. That kind of service makes a difference.

Now for the tough part… they may be relocating. And that’s a loss for this area, because this is easily the only Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee I’d confidently give a full five stars. That’s not something I say lightly.

I’ve had incredible Mexican food in places like Arizona, and this spot genuinely holds its own. Which makes it even more surprising that it’s not packed all the time. If I’m being honest, it feels like a location issue—because some of the busiest places in Milwaukee don’t come close in quality.

So yeah… I’ll be making my way back here quite a bit before they move. From what I was told, they’ve got about 3–5 months left in this location after being here for 8 years—and somehow, I’m just now discovering them. Better late than never, but still… wow.

Habanero’s is excellent, I really like this restaurant. They’re polite, engaging, and the food/service is very good. Food comes out quick and they’re always very attentive. I just had the Jalisco al pastor tacos for the first time and they were great. At mi Madre taco dish is also a favorite

Veggie taco bowl was sitting in a pool of water. The Chicken Chimi was covered in mole which took away from it being a chimichanga. The strawberry lemonade was sour. Over all… won’t be back. Best part was the chips. Also the tip was already included for a party of 2. Hmm. I’m just sayin.

Food and drinks were ok, but over priced. Service was great. 18% gratuity added to bill automatically for 2 people! I understand for large parties. I had to go and get the bill. Will not go back for this reason. I usually give at least 20%, but if it’s expected and put automatically on I won’t go. What if I had bad service and food and didn’t want to tip that much?
