Giovanni's was absolutely fantastic. I was absolutely happy with the service and the flavor of our food. They actually paid attention and didn't miss a beat. 10/10 would recommend. I will be back very soon!

There was crap floating around in our water, mouth imprints still on the glasses, stingy on the bread, butter tasted old. Food was disappointing. $62 for that??

Just tried the Sauk rapids mn new location, service was absolutely horrendous , sat for 25 mins before seeing a server,(it was slow maybe 8 customers in the building at most) had to ask them to bring us the free bread that every other table had, sat with empty drinks for 20 mins, the mussels were rancid, the meat balls were dry and flavorless, Alfredo has a odd taste almost like they put maybe nutmeg in it? They never remodeled the building from when it was el Loro Mexican restaurant so it still has Mexican decor 😂 oh also the plates were dirty, and they still charged us $115 for 3 adult entrees and one kids menu spaghetti. Absolutely garbage food atmosphere and service. This place won’t be around for very long. Very disappointing, we had high hopes for a new restaurant in town

Six of us were there tonight and each had a different entree. We were all very pleased with the food. My chicken parmigiana was huge and perfectly done and crisp. The warm bread with honey butter was delicious. And we were pleasantly surprised that the entrees now come with a nice salad. There were so many reviews about the meals not coming with a salad that they added it now. It is a little expensive, but we all enjoyed our dinners and the mussels for an appetizer.
I can't really rate this place. We went in, at opening and we're seated in a tiny booth for two. The bench I was sitting on was crooked, unstable, leaning forward. Extremely uncomfortable. The waitress disappeared after dropping off the menus. Opened to browse the menu. Prices were quite high... my brain said Really? Noodles are relatively inexpensive. Why would prices list this high? Already uncomfortable due to bad booth, we decided to leave.
Restaurant appearance was very clean. A bit dated, but welcoming.

The new Giovanni’s Italian Ristorante in North Hudson Wisconsin has excellent food. On our first visit we tried a seafood dish and a red sauce tortellini dish. Both meals were a 9 out of 10 rating compared to hundreds of frequently visited restaurants. We will revisit often. Chef Miguel visited with us discussing his vast experience and food preparation techniques. All pasta is made on site. We highly recommend Giovanni’s Italian Ristorante.

I’m sorry if any of you like this place, but I was a Mama Maria’s lover and still am and honestly it would feel in vain to eat there in the same building that was once Mama Maria’s. I miss that restaurant so freaking much as I grew up eating there with my family.

I was hoping for more, but we were just disappointed... They were out of Calamari & Escargot, on a Thursday? The Caesar salad, chicken parmesan & frutti di mare was just "meh?" What wasn't meh, was the bill!! I truly hope they make it, but they've got some work to do! Maybe as a Mexican restaurant?
The service was attentive and great however I wasn't overly impressed with my meal. I ordered the Penne Alla Romana Con Funghi and to be honest it was pretty bland. The food was edible for sure just overall disappointing. Will probably give this place another shot at some point but first impression was kinda disappointing.

5 stars all around! Every single thing we ordered was incredible. We were sharing our plates with each other and we couldn’t get enough. The Caesar salads were incredible. I had the ravioli with white and red sauce combined, and it was die for. I also had the best calamari I’ve ever had in my life and the staff was the icing on the cake. Our server was truly one of the best servers I’ve had in the past few years. Especially in a world where the service industry has been lacking… We will be back over and over and over again. If you like authentic Italian food, this is your place!

We celebrated my Mom and Dad’s 40th Wedding Anniversary last night at Giovanni’s. Service, food & drinks were amazing! The warm bread, Caesar salad & homemade pasta were among our favorites. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!
