Grandpa, my daughter, and I stumbled into Jeff’s Kitchen on the coldest evening so far in 2024.
This place hands down is the best “hidden gem” of Janesville right now and it’s not even close. Everything was completely affordable, if not under prices for the portions you get. Trust me when I say, just order a chicken sandwich. You will never send your money at a chick-fil-a again.
The owner was a wonderful person to talk with and hear his story since we were the only customers at the time. The waitress was great and patient with the little one.
After leaving, my family all agreed we would make this a regular spot to visit going forward.

Glad we finally were able to check out this diner because WOW! The food was phenomenal as well as the service. Everything was made from scratch and that’s what really made the food very tasteful. And Jeff?…. LOVE THAT GUY! Made us feel right at home! We’ll be regulars from here on out. Very pleased with everything, thank you!

Had an amazing First Time Experience! The food was absolutely stunning! Jeff himself is a great man with a great attitude! Deffinetly felt cozy and right at home! We will 1000000% be back again and again!

I am very upset with you for the way you treated me and I could have gave you the $5 or my grandma would have gave it to you but the reason I didn't come back is because you were rude and creepy and rude and my friends don't like you either the way you treat people you treat them like garbage and I owe the waitress money not you cuz she covered it me and my friend we never go back there again and neither one of my friend or my grandma. You need to work on your social skills being nicer to people. People think you are creepy and so do I but I'll never come back again.

Stopped in on a whim when we were in town. Couldn't decide between a chicken sandwich and a diner burger and Jeff served me this abomination! Just kidding, my husband and I split the sandwiches in half. The chicken was comically huge and the burger was very tasty. Jeff "bullied" my toddler into eating her vegetables...by making such a delicious tomato soup!

Jeff came out and had a chat with us as it was near the end of the night. He's got a real sense of humor. I can see why he might not appeal...if your funny bone is broken or something.

l get the feeling he cares deeply about his food. Everything is from scratch. So if you have a special diet or allergy, he can come up with something for you. Maybe give him a heads up if it's a busy time.

The special on Friday is fish fry and Saturday is comfort food. We'll definitely be back for those!

P.s. I really like the eclectic plates and mugs. It felt very homey.

Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu and Jeff was very friendly to my baby and toddler. No changing table in the ladies room, but the bathroom was so clean that I had no problem putting my baby changing pad right on the floor.

$15 for soup and side salad just for the salad to be less than a handful! Had already went back once bc i asked for no cheese and i had cheese on the first one. Lower your prices or give out the right portions!!!

Great little diner food is real good. I had the chicken sandwich it is enormous and very tasty. Tucked away in the Mercy strip mall so keep your eyes peeled but it’s there!

I would definitely go back the food was good the service was great and it was a nice atmosphere. The outsider is deceiving as it's in a strip mall surrounded by medical providers but once inside the atmosphere was very nice.

First time in was very pleasant. My dad and I each got the diner burger which was good. I recommend adding the roasted peppers. There were no other customers at the time we visited but I definitely think there should’ve been. Highly recommended
