Absolutely wonderful place. Had the prixe fix tonight which included sweet potato and bacon ravioli, risotto, and green tomato sorbet.Simply put, the sweet potato and bacon ravioli tasted like a loaded baked potato wrapped up inside ravioli. The risitto was absolutely nuts. First off, the risotto was more liquidy than I was used to, not quite soupy but also not the thick rice I was used to. Maybe most importantly to me, I was a little unsure about the duck because I've had it a time or two and it was less than special. This time I could tell it was different than chicken or turkey, it had a very distinct and specific flavor I've never tasted before. The way it blended with the risotto was absolutely amazing. Each piece of the risotto went amazingly well with each of the other pieces, any pair of ingredients mixing together to form another distinct and stand out flavor. The goat cheese and fig, while few and small in volume, really gave a small treat to each bite they were included in and added a lot of depth. The dish, while fantastic on its own, was not complete with the encompassing balsamic. It really brought the whole dish together and brought it to whole other level. As for dessert, I was very curious as to how this mix of seemingly random fall ingredients would taste. Surprisingly, it was fantastic and most certainly unique. This was much like the risotto in terms of pieces and depth. A sweet desert turned almost savory with the addition of the salty Ritz cracker crumble around the chedder cheese. Unsure of how it would blend, I was pleasently surprised particularly at how well the pumpkin mixed with the chedder and Ritz crumble. That flavor profile paired well with the green tomato sorbet and especially well with the apple strips. Not my favorite thing in the world but not at all bad and certainly very unique. At least I thought it was, might be a more common combination than I think. The level of creativity here gives it a lot or extra points in my book.Overall, very good. Dessert was more interesting than great for the restaurant and the sweet potato and bacon ravioli was almost disappointingly familiar. The main course was one of my favorite things I've ever had and definitely something I would look to replicate on my own in the future.Disclaimer: I am just a random college kid who likes to eat, I don't actually know anything about food. I am literally just spouting words. Love this restaurant and it inspired me to cook fancy for myself and family. My girlfriend thought it was fun to read my review over text and told me to post it so here it is!

My husband and I attended our 60th HS reunion and were pleasantly surprised to find this place to eat in our hometown! We found the decor inviting and cozy, the service attentive and friendly, and the food amazing. There was a great wine selection although we did think the pour could have been a bit more generous. Even though we didn’t imbibe in any cocktails they looked creative. Each of the three small plates we ordered was delicious with just the right amount os spices. We especially enjoyed the Sisig with the egg on top and even recommended it to our neighboring diners. Our compliments to the owners and chef of this very enjoyable restaurant.

Loved the food! Definitely worth a shot if you’re looking for great in season dining. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection, I’m usually weary about eating the skin on chicken but it was actually to die for. 10/10 recommend this place. Also they make really great cocktails and mocktails.

Listen, I have travelled all over this country (DC, LA, etc.) dining at Michelin Star establishments and I have yet to find a place like Lark. It's not just the variety in their menu, the unique takes on classic flavors, or the ever-impressive custard flavor of the week- it is the quality of the ingredients that go into their food and drinks and the expertise of the people that craft them. Leah is a national treasure behind the bar. I have never seen a drink menu so unique, curated, and varied. New ingredients (that I usually can't even pronounce) bring such incredible flavor and mouth feel to every creative concoction. In regards to food, I oftentimes need to physically restrain my husband from smooching the head chef on the forehead. Their pork chop is unrivaled, the vegetarian options always leverage fresh ingredients, and their rotating menu truly displays the talent and versatility of the back of house staff. Speaking of staff, I have yet to experience anything less than exceptional customer service. At this point, we've been regulars for a little over a year and I can truly say that every member of the team is well-informed, courteous, and efficient beyond belief. I bring everyone I know and love to this restaurant and it never fails to impress. This type of meal in New York would surely surpass a $500 price point but here, in little ol' Janesville, its the most reasonably priced high dining experience in this county, possibly even the lower half of the state. I cannot recommend Lark enough- if you love good food, good drinks, and good service, grab a reservation and come on down for one of the best nights out you've had in a while.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options vary every month and every single dish is incredible!

Outstanding original cocktails and menu make Lark the place to visit in Janesville. Lia behind the bar and Chase in the kitchen provide a consistent and memorable experience every time. Lucky to have their expertise in downtown Janesville.

First time customers and Lark did not disappoint. Cocktails were amazing and used fresh ingredients. Food was excellent. Recommend doing their 3 course monthly special to make sure you get the full experience. The asparagus carbonara was amazing and my husband enjoyed the featured entree. Finished off with a rhubarb desert. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I have been here a few times, but I do not expect us to go back. Most recently, I ordered the pork chop. It was very thick, and the inside was undercooked and rare at best. The middle of the pork was visibly undercooked and cool to the touch, similar to a very rare steak. I requested that it be cooked longer, since generally pork should not be eaten if it is that rare. I was surprised they would serve such rare pork. They did not seem to like it that I sent it back, even though I expressed calm concerns about it being unsafe to eat.Overall, the food was ok, but not worth the price. There are several other options in town that far surpass them, and will not serve you undercooked food.If you go, get dessert. This seems to be where this restaurant is at its best
