I randomly found this place when I was in town for my daughter’s softball tournament. Such a unique and laid back venue. Nice selection of beers, and the food was made from scratch and top notch. They had a Peking Duck sandwich, which was fantastic.

The sandwich I just ate here is going straight into my sandwich hall of fame. Yes, I have a sandwich hall of fame. It's not an actual building or anything, just a special corner of my hippocampus where I keep the memories of particularly perfect sandwiches. You know how there are just some sandwiches that you remember and look back on fondly/longingly? I will be thinking about the Sorry Charlie for years. I live an hour away from Janesville, and I'm already thinking about when I might go back and try another sandwich. (Also, the people working there were lovely.)

I’m so used to being underwhelmed by sandwich joints, it felt almost disorienting to have such a great experience at the Sandwich Bar. We had the shrimp po boy and the tuna melt and both were spectacular. The shrimp were huge and not over-battered. The sauces, seasonings, and sides (which are afterthoughts at most places) were fantastic and clearly had real thought put into them. Service was perfect. If this place weren’t an hour away from me, I’d be here constantly.

I had the fish fry tonight. It was delicious! The fish was
mild and very flaky. The fries were very good. I will definitely order it again. The only thing I would change is a little more tartar sauce.
