First time dining here. It was our anniversary and we dined on a Monday @5pm. My wife ordered the scallops but they didn't have them. It was disappointing they were out of them but she had the prawns instead. They were very good. My New York strip was exceptional. Shareables and sides for two were very good. We both tried the Strawberry shandy cider which was very tasty. Service was excellent. We easily made our reservations online. We definitely will look forward to another dinner here. It is expensive dining but overall a nice experience.

The food and service are consistently good. I've been eating here once/month this year during trips to Janesville and I'm working my way through the menu. So far everything has been good. This visit I tried the sautéed calamari which is a nice alternative to the typical fried presentation. The squid were tender and the light broth they were served in has a good amount of garlic and chili, which I really enjoyed. The Parmesan crusted Brussels sprouts went nicely with the well prepared sea bass. Another very enjoyable meal.

First time dining at the Wissota Chophouse — it was excellent! Our server, Scott, was knowledgeable and patient, and checked in with us regularly throughout our meal. The soups (French onion and lobster bisque) were delicious. We both had the ribeye along with the asparagus and truffle mac and cheese. Ended the night with a decadent piece of chocolate cake. Happy hour drinks made it great, too. Overall it was a great spot for an anniversary dinner! We'll definitely be back in the future!

James our server was absolutely amazing. This was our 2nd time at your restaurant- we live in Minnesota. If we are back, we'd definitely request him. He had great suggestions. He raises the bar. Food was delicious - we had lobster tail. Celebrating my husbands 52nd bday. The mushroom risotto paired really well with the Lobster Tail. Chased down slowly with the old fashioned. For dessert we had the raspberry tiramisu. I highly recommend. Hands down. Ambience is one of the best we've experienced.

Had a great dinner on Friday !! Misty the manager came up to our table and asked if everything was good and if there was anything we needed. Scott our waiter was amazing, he was at our table numerous times thru out our dinner. Food was amazing and so was the staff. Thank you for a great night

Another good meal with consistently good service. I started with 1/2 dozen oysters that were plump and fresh. The cocktail sauce is a bit light on the horseradish, but the little bottles of Tabasco served with the oysters allowed me to up the spice level nicely. I really enjoyed the smoked blue cheese on the wedge salad. It played well with the regular blue cheese and creamy dressing. My seared scallops were quite good too. The orange buerre blanc they sat on top of worked well with the sweetness of the scallops. I'm in Janesville about once a month and I'm becoming a regular at Wissota. I'll definitely be back on my next trip.

I was pleased to try Wissota for the first time in December and am now making a point of dining here on my monthly trips to Janesville. Even though I'm a pescatarian, I have no trouble finding interesting and tasty options on the menu. They were still running Valentine's Day specials during this visit and I really enjoyed the cedar planked salmon with a spinach and artichoke filling. It was almost like spinach artichoke dip meets roasted salmon, in a very delicious way. I also really liked the ricotta stuffed fried olive appetizer. Their wines by the glass list isn't extensive, but there are some nice options, and the Penfolds Shiraz I selected went well with both courses. There aren't many higher end restaurant options in Janesville, so it's nice to have one that so far is consistently good.
They have the best steaks around! The blue cheese risotto is absolutely delicious. We've had great service from all staff that have waited on us, but James has always given excellent service.

The service was outstanding. The food is excellent., especially their aged beef. We went for our Valentine's dinner on the 13th. The noise level was modest but we have been there on a weekend and the noise was very loud. It is pricy but good for special occasions

Ordered the Lobster Bisque as an appetizer, the soup came with 4 distinct and different cuts of rye bread from different loafs. I didn't notice the detail until I ate one of the bread slices with the soup. Canceled my steak after losing my appetite due to potentially cross contaminated old bread.

We were the only ones there so it was a really cool experience. We don't often go to places like that so I didn't know what to order but the food I did have wasn't all that great. The towering cake was awesome. The service was excellent 100% and the atmosphere was really cool cuz it was only my wife and I. But I don't know for sure how it usually is.
