A long and storied history, and, while the name Bon Ton was not used until 1917, the building in which it is housed, has been a bakery since, at least, 1893. Overtime, many families have run this historic location. Done well in great various baking traditions I remember even coming here as a kid in the early 70's. For variety, get here early in the day.... most of their original donut recipes have easily been swooped up by 8-9am, especially thru the weekend. Various days call for making special breads or seasonal recipes so even call ahead to find out the latest. Couple of window side tables can early AM be occupied with coffee \donut crowd. Let me start by saying I'm an addict, a bakery addict! I've been searching for a great bakery and I've finally succeeded. The turkey and rice soup was most excellent too. Bit of a drive but well worth it. I will be back soon. Lastly, the staff is very friendly and kind.

Had cakes made for our sons Celebration of Life, one german chocolate and one decorated. The decorated cake was the talk of the day. It was beautiful. Both cakes received rave reviews on taste. This is a true bakery with exceptional service! Get there early for the best selection before they run out of things. If you're used to supermarket bakery items, you NEED to try Bon Ton. You'll never go back to a grocery store bakery again!

Convinced I came through on a bad week. Only had white bread on the shelves and person behind the counter seemed confused as to when the other breads would be made. Oddly enough, she mentioned that the Vienna rolls were in the back, frozen. So are this place baking and unfreezing stock through the week or are they even making the stuff themselves?Decided to pick up three pasties since this was the second time I had tried and was left slightly underwhelmed for Buck-fifty pasties. They LOOK real pretty though.

Good local bakery in Jefferson Wisconsin. Steady stream of people, so definitely popular with their customers. We just got a loaf of freshly baked white bread and a sticky bun. Slice of bread was great with a light coating of butter! The sticky bun had a nice yeast flavor, but could have been sticker. It did have a nice sticky nut topping. We noticed daily deli specials and $4 bag of day old pastries that still looked great!

This is my favorite bakery. We stopped by on a road trip one summer and everyone in the car was impressed by the quality of the deliiteful offerings to the hometown kindness of everyone on staff. A lot of love and perfection go into their food. My 89 year old mother said it reminded her of her childhood in Fountain City WI and Winona MN. We all took loads of treat home. Bon ton has been baking for around 100 years. May they continue for another century. Staff couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. The bakers as well. Holiday cut out cookies are a sleeper. Also right now their cake decorator is really good with carefully neat and creative work. So go already!!

I wanted to give a shout out to Cindy and her crew who made and delivered 4 beautiful dessert trays for my mom's celebration of Life. They looked and tasted amazing & everyone loved them (my older sister even snuck some mini eclairs and cream puffs to take home with her)! We were very pleased with them all and will definitely stop by your shop when we are in Wisconsin again. Jackie & my whole family
