This used to be my favorite coffee shop. My go-to coffee shop in fact. It has a beautiful inviting atmosphere and the drinks are absolutely delicious, but don’t let that fool you.
They only care to service you if you’re neurotypical; or a masking neurodivergent. The only times I was treated with respect is when I was in the building, masking.
The second I dropped my mask- (put myself in a very vulnerable position because this shop makes you feel like they’re “welcoming” and they “understand” and are “for their community”)
I opened up about how I needed info on a new product before coming into the building, explained why, I got blocked instead of giving me the information?
I am neurodivergent and have ocd and if something is new, especially somewhere that I’m used to everything being the same, I NEED extra information. I explained that, and instead of just informing me on the new product; they blocked me….
I very sad to say they are not as welcoming and inviting as they portray themselves to be.
They only welcomed me when I was in their shop, being “normal”.
The second I decided to be myself and drop a mask and ask for extra accommodations I got discriminated against, and shunned, instead of welcomed and my questions answered.
Photo evidence will be provided.
Update: They have now invalidated my neurodivergency and ocd on top of discriminating against it. Basically trying to say everything I said isn’t because of my actual conditions and it’s all because I’m trying to side with someone they had an incident with. My issues with ocd and neurodivergency have nothing to do with this incident. And if they took the product off market because of said incident; why was the product being advertised as being “so good worth stealing, if you know, you know!” Days after the incident.? They only “stopped selling” their promotional product once I opened up about having ocd and asked them if they used gloves and what their procedures were for these coffee cups that you put in your mouth chew and ingest. They didn’t stop selling it because someone stole it. They stopped selling it because someone started asking questions they didn’t like. The proof is in the post of “so good they’re worth stealing, if you know, you know”
Well I didn’t know. But now I do. And nothing they say adds up or makes sense. If they stopped selling these because of someone “stealing them” then why were they literally advertising them with a joke about them being so good they’re worth stealing just days after they actually got “stolen”. Or so they say. I don’t know how much I’d trust them with how many holes are in their stories and with how triggered they got by me when I had nothing to do with the stealing incident but they roped me into it by blaming me for being a part of it when all I wanted; was extra information. They were so willing to give me the info on the products before I said I had ocd ans neurodivergency, and the product was not off market it was actually being advertised up until the moment I said I had ocd and neurodivergency and needed more info on the product. Then, shortly after that, is when I got blocked and the product got taken down.

I just moved to Jefferson from a bigger city. Immediately when I went in here the atmosphere was friendly, warm and welcome. I signed up for an unlimited membership for the month, purchased a tanning lotion, and got a coffee. Everything was great, but it was the staff and kindness that stood out most from the staff and owner. I’ve gone back a few times and coffee continues to be great. Love the different flavor options. Can’t wait to keep coming back. 🥰
I love supporting a small local business like Tan A Latte — you can really tell they care about their customers and community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great service, good prices, and a welcoming vibe!

Love this place. Only thing that I would suggest is more people behind the counter.
Just the most relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Menu options are vast and well balanced. An amazing meeting location for business or leisure.
