Service was polite but slow. They were a few servers short, and the kitchen seemed backed up. Dinner dragged on for a couple of hours.
Good setting if you’re not in a hurry. Don’t come expecting a fast meal.

We saw a recommendation on Facebook and thought we'd do a road trip and check it out. It was worth the trip! The soups were delicious and the prime rib sandwich and salad were too.

Wish we would have tried this place sooner. Fish fry was delicious. Loved that nothing was greasy or left a slimy taste. Fresh hot food and we will definitely be back. The cheese curds were so good, same for the mushrooms, and the ranch was delicious. Raspberry Mojito was delicious and suggested by our server. She made the experience wonderful. Very attentive, loved every thing about our Friday fish fried dinner. Portion sizes are huge! Pretty being in the river. Can’t wait for the patio season.

We love Heron's Landing. It has a unique ambience; historic reniniscence of early Jefferson, a wonderful outdoor patio set on the banks of the Rock River, Matt the bartender is one of the best mixologist around and the food is not only well prepared but the diverse menu seems to please a variety of palates.
Vegetarian options: Surprised by the salads, sandwiches or entree options for my vegetarian husband. His favorite a Portabella sandwich accompanied by a apple, cranberry & walnut salad.
Recommended dishes: Ruben, Chicken Caprese Wrap, Jam on the Dam Burger

Have gone for lunch many times and carried out. I have loved everything I have tried. I love the Dam Burger, the Gobbler. Potato Boats are always a good choice for an appetizer. They have the best homemade chips of anywhere I've been. People are always friendly there and helpful. The location is great, too. Worth a stop if you're travelling through or by Jefferson or if you live nearby. Very Wisconsin :))

Best clam chowder I've had-and i love clam chowder. Pan fried perch & blue gills are the tops and the potato pancakes closely resemble Jewish ones. Order an ice cream after dinner for a delicious 'splurge'

Stopped here for lunch, taking a day trip to Jefferson. Restaurant on the Rock River. Outdoor patio and seating. Very clean. Friendly staff, the food was great ? Nicely landscaped. Great view of the river and park on the other side.

2nd time here. Great location on the river, even in winter. Was quiet when we visited but the decor is homely and cosy and the service friendly and efficient. Decent burger but outstanding Bloody Mary. The Glarus beer on tap is stand out. Shame it’s only available in Wisconsin….
