Great atmosphere, food was good but nothing special. Service was slow but maybe there was a reason for it, who knows these days.

Update: I don't recall when I posted the first review but we revisited Hiway Harry's November of 2025, and service was terribly slow. It took a little over an hour to get our burgers and chicken sandwich. We also paid $15 for four typical bar food mozzarella sticks which is crazy. The food was mediocre at best. One in our party straight up didn't like their mushy chicken sandwich, burgers weren't well seasoned, and the house salad was literally just lettuce mix with two cherry tomatoes and a sliver of onion. No cheese, no croutons. Our waitress was nice, but didn't really check on us much and didn't mention the long wait for our food, which leads me to believe that that's the norm. She was apologetic when we were honest about the quality and we did get about 20% taken off our bill. Atmosphere is still good. On a scale of one to five I'd give the food a one especially given the price you pay. Service gets a 1.5 just because nobody was particularly rude but it was very very slow. When you first walk in, you get the impression that this is a high-end establishment, and then you see the prices on the menu and expect the quality to match, but be prepared to be disappointed. That was our experience anyway.

We came for an early dinner. I had the 8oz Sirloin and my wife had the Chicken Alfredo. Both entrees came with a choice of soup or salad, bread, and mine came with a potato choice. I chose the Loaded Baked Potato.
Both meals were prepared perfectly and the portions were plentiful.
The prices were what you'd expect from a very nice restaurant. Our waitress, Savanna, was attentive and personable. Our food arrived quickly.
There isn't a dress code but I'd recommend business casual or nicer for dinner. I've been there for lunch and the patrons were dressed casually in everything from business suits to golf attire.
If you're looking for a quick lunch or your celebrating a special occasion, I highly recommend Hi-Way Harry's. Located just off I-94 in Johnson's Creek, it's about half way between Madison and Milwaukee's western suburbs.

We used to go to the Sunday brunch every time we were in the Johnson Creek outlet mall. When they discontinued it we were very disappointed. We were at the mall last weekend with another couple. I called Highway Harry’s and found out they were again having the brunch. So I thought I’d treat our friends with a special experience. The first thing we saw were two stacks of dirty dishes next to the clean dishes at the beginning of the buffet. Ok. Honest mistake? We all got back to the table. The chicken was dry. The roast beef was tough and tasteless. The shrimp was leathery. I was just about to say that this wasn’t the Sunday brunch I remembered when my friends wife said “Oh no. I think it a worm”. It was a little lime green worm about the size of a grain of rice. She went and showed it to the waiter and was told there was no charge for the extra protein. Needless to say we won’t be going back there again.

Liked the atmosphere, but paid $39 for a steak, that for a steakhouse was horrible. There was so much fat and gristle that I could not eat it., the bites that I was able to eat was tasteless. The baked potato was undercooked.

Very nice steak and friendly environment, not a typical highway stop. Good meat, nice onion starters and reasonable prices.

The service I recieved from tonights meal was unimaginable. My girlfriend and I were seated in a booth for 4+ and had to face the wall. Our waitress visited our table once when we ordered and a second time when we paid. Our water glasses were empty before we had received our main course. My girlfriends silverware had green flakes stuck to it and had a film covering it. I ordered a ravioli that was supposed to have lobster, salmon, crab, and shrimp. I received it with cold meat and no salmon. When I addressed the lack of salmon with our waitress, I was told that the dish did not entail salmon. I later addressed the issue with the resturant manager and she told us that she was aware of the issue and the best that they could do was a free desert or a $10 gift certificate. Along with my girlfriends sirloin, we paid $73 dollars for incorrect food and poor service.

This used to be a very nice local restaurant with great food, great service, and a beautiful restaurant. This is now twice in the last month that it has been top to bottom a worse experience than your local Applebees spot. Service is almost non-existent. The food is an embarrassment to what it once was (cold, takes a long time, and missing basic characteristics - like crunch with fries...). The chef and management need to take a long look in the mirror to decide if robbing families of money and experience is worth showing up everyday for. There is a correlation to the number of people in the restaurant on a Saturday night and the quality of their output (empty restaurant on a summer Saturday evening). Please change the name of the restaurant if you are not going to resemble what this restaurant once was.

On-line menu does not match actual restaurant menu. Web menu had many more vegetarian options and the restaurant menu had pasta only. Food was cold, ordered gourmet Mac & cheese and cheese was not melted. Kids menu Mac & cheese was so much better than the gourmet. Inconsistent between wait staff. Some tables have bread some not. Salads bland and boring. Just iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato with cheese. Some other tables also had croutons but my table did not. Prices listed on menu were in pounds??? Do not recommend.
